April Fools' Dance, An Abandoned Warehouse, Friday Night

The first arrivals to the warehouse would have found nothing - until the lights went on, dropping many shades of glitter down onto the floor. The glitter would stick around all night, almost-but-not-quite clashing with the colorful decor, though it did not seem to incite any boykissy.

Even if one of the janitors definitely took a shot at using it as an excuse.

There was a karaoke booth set up in the corner, and the rest of the party environment looked chaotic and incredibly merry. Reds, blues, and yellows had been thrown together like a crazy man had attacked the place with some paint.

Well, Raven was fairly flexible in that fashion if he wanted to remember, but if he did, Jono might punch him.

"Not just dancing," Karla reminded him. "We're going to get tired some time, but I still intend to hold you like this when we fall asleep."

It was the eating that might get tricksy.

Jono probably would punch him, yes. And he'd enjoy doing so.

Jono was a bit of an ass, sometimes.

"That... sounds really comfortable," Warren noted, smiling even more. "And, since I have the room all to myself..."

There was no need to negotiate having the girlfriend overnight because she was permanently attached in a snuggle.

"Was that an invitation to move in?" Karla teased. "Because that's what it sounded like to me. Unfortunately for you, I adore my roommate, so you'll only get to have me around for...say...four nights out of seven. Well, and this whole weekend, too, since we've already agreed that we're stuck together."

"I guess I'm going to have to cope, those other three nights. Vacuum. Study. That sort of thing. But it's going to be pretty rough, you know."

"But four out of seven isn't that bad. I still come out on the better half of the bargain."

See? They had this thing all figured out.

"Speaking of," Karla said, a little hesitantly, "I was thinking, I mean, since we already agreed I'd be needing help with the corset anyway, that maybe after the dance--and I've already vanished pajamas with pants--not that I was assuming anything! I mean, I just had, in general, because you never know when they might come in handy..."

At some point, Karla might actually stop babbling and finish her question.

Oh, that totally earned her another kiss. Slower, this time, broken only by the grin that Warren couldn't quite bite back.

"Yes, Karla. You're completely welcome to spend the night with me."

Which was good because Karla couldn't stop grinning, either.

"Thank you," she said, wrapping her arms around his waist and squeezing tightly. She had more to say: promises of no pressure, expressions of appreciation, stuff like that. But she realized that it would probably be better if she just shut up for once.

So she kissed him again and hoped that would be enough.
