April Fools' Dance, An Abandoned Warehouse, Friday Night

The first arrivals to the warehouse would have found nothing - until the lights went on, dropping many shades of glitter down onto the floor. The glitter would stick around all night, almost-but-not-quite clashing with the colorful decor, though it did not seem to incite any boykissy.

Even if one of the janitors definitely took a shot at using it as an excuse.

There was a karaoke booth set up in the corner, and the rest of the party environment looked chaotic and incredibly merry. Reds, blues, and yellows had been thrown together like a crazy man had attacked the place with some paint.

"I'm an only child too and I manage to share," he pointed out, sliding his fingers up one of her arms since it was there and bare and all. Skin was so nice to touch.

"And yet, despite your inability to vocally state that the room is shared," he started, smirking, "I still want to go back to your room with you. Maybe you could finish up that dance from a few days ago. Maybe with less clothing too."

"Who knew you had stripper fantasies in that curly head of yours," she teased, enjoying just being with him for once. "All your innocence is gone."

"Oh, that innocence was gone as soon I learned how to crawl," he said, sounding strangely proud of that. "Then, it was all looking up girl's dresses and groping their tits and using my adorable baby ways to get as close to the goods as I could."

He beamed at the memory of his amazingly flirtatious young self before adding, "By the way, sometimes the upskirt looking? Not worth it. Old women have some groooooooooss things under there. I'm still getting over the trauma."

"Oh gross, I don't even want to think about you looking up my Nana's skirt," Caroline said, shuddering a little. "I mean, she aged well, of course, but noooooo."

"Oh, I guess that means you're totally innocent then, yeah?" Nathan asked, knowing full well that wasn't true. "And no one's tried to corrupt you yet? How awful! You're missing out on so much, Caroline. Just say no to being a preacher's daughter."

"Too late, I'm the sheriff's daughter," Caroline said. "But that just makes me totally bad to the bone. But not in a terrible 80s music sort of way."

"Oh yeah?" Nathan asked, raising a skeptical eyebrow. "I think I might need some proof of that. Proof of this badness you're so motivated to be. I think I need tangible proof."

"Ah see, that's not bad at all," Nathan said, shaking his head. "You're using my extraordinarily bad aura as your own. I wanna see your bad, Caroline. Show me how naughty and devious you can be. You've got be anticipating it now."

Caroline looked up at him and wondered why he couldn't just enjoy dancing with her for five seconds without something crazy happening. "You're seriously in need of naughty while we're dancing?"

"I'm not seriously in need of anything," Nathan said, shaking his head. "I can't tease you about things anymore? What's the matter? I know you said awhile ago that you're not used to playful and all but...I like teasing you."

"Just let me enjoy this for a count of thirty and then we'll go back to you teasing me and me promising to do things that are illegal in some states to you when we get back to my room, okay?" Caroline thought this was a great bargain.

"You can enjoy this for as long as you want," Nathan told her, nodding. "I'm not trying to rush you out of here or back to our room or into bed, Caroline. I'm just teasing you. I can be quiet though. I asked you to dance because I wanted to dance with you. I had no ulterior motives. So, let's dance. Please."

"Thank you," she said, leaning her head against his shoulder and swaying to the music for a full minute. "Okay. I'm good. Commence with the Irish chatter."

"Later," he said because now he didn't want to talk. He could enjoy quiet, calm moments sometimes. "I'll talk later. This is good for me too right now. So, later. I promise."
