Three Minute Dates- Caritas- Saturday before 8:15 pm

It was that time agaaaaaain! There was a sign on the door and a banner above the stage.

CARITAS PRESENTS
THREE MINUTE DATES

Or maybe, perchance, you totally missed it somehow, and didn't run from the bar before Tino could sign you up for dates. It happens!

And then a few minutes before 8:00, Kitty took the stage under the banner, to a drumroll from the zombie drummer.

"Hello and welcome to another installment of Three Minute Dates!" Kitty began. "In case you're new to this, in a couple minutes I'm going to call out sets of names. You'll find that person, talk to them for a whole three minutes. When you hear this siren-" Oh, that was an obnoxious air horn sound. "-you'll get a new person to talk to. If you got sucked into this without your knowledge, sorry, and also it's fifteen minutes of your life, make some new friends!"

Oh, hey, look at that! Someone he wasn't sort-of, kind-of, in a weird way tangentially, associatively related to! The night was working its way up!

That really didn't stop Prompto from still being slightly awkward, though he was trying not to be as he lifted his chin and lifted a hand in a sort of greeting and said, "Hey, man. How's it going?"

"Not too bad so far. I don't know how much actually comes of these things but it's worth checking out."

Wasn't it the last 3MD where he got his wallet stolen by a hookup?

Prompto shrugged a little. "They can be kind of fun," he offered, although he was sort of trying not to think too much about his own last experience with 3MD, which had, admittedly, sort of gotten his hopes a little up to only be inevitably crushed, which, really, he should have expected. "But also...weird. But, hey, my first date started out with my sister's dad, so at least it's only upwards from here, am I right?"

...Gods, he hoped he was right about that!

"She's probably not, though."

Prompto was going to give you such a withering look at that, Nick, man, come on.

"Yeah, no," he then said, "she's not even here tonight."

And thank gods for that, because, honestly?? With his luck???

But wanting to give dating his sister a wide, wide berth, he quickly switched to, "But what about you, man? What's your whole thing? Abridged, obviously, since...you know. But I don't think we know each other?"

"Uh, from Chicago, live in LA, somehow I'm still teaching here but it's not like I've got real classes. What about you?"

He could sum up his whole thing pretty well.

"Uh, well," Prompto thought of how best to condense it in a nice little quick blurb, "used to go to school here, graduated, officially joined the Crownsguard back home, which means I'm, like, part of an elite force to protect the prince and stuff?" There really was no way to put that without sounding like he was trying to brag, was there? But, well, it was a pretty good thing to brag about! "And then decided that it would actually be kind of fun to teach here in my off-time! So I did, and it's actually been pretty great!"

Having to speed date with your former teachers notwithstanding, of course.

Nick was just gonna bypass the whole prince thing because that had to mean something else.

It didn't mean Prince, he knew that. He knew Prince.
