Three Minute Dates- Caritas- Saturday before 8:15 pm

It was that time agaaaaaain! There was a sign on the door and a banner above the stage.

CARITAS PRESENTS
THREE MINUTE DATES

Or maybe, perchance, you totally missed it somehow, and didn't run from the bar before Tino could sign you up for dates. It happens!

And then a few minutes before 8:00, Kitty took the stage under the banner, to a drumroll from the zombie drummer.

"Hello and welcome to another installment of Three Minute Dates!" Kitty began. "In case you're new to this, in a couple minutes I'm going to call out sets of names. You'll find that person, talk to them for a whole three minutes. When you hear this siren-" Oh, that was an obnoxious air horn sound. "-you'll get a new person to talk to. If you got sucked into this without your knowledge, sorry, and also it's fifteen minutes of your life, make some new friends!"

Had they met? Lucille wasn't sure. Perhaps he just hadn't made much of an impression, but that was certainly not an insult, since very few people did. Regardless, she looked forward to three minutes of conversation.

"How's it going?" he asked. "I'm Nick."

"I am Lucille. A pleasure to meet you."

She offered him a small smile.

"So far I've had the opportunity to talk to both strangers and old acquaintances. Since we have only three minutes, what would you like me to know about you?"

"My name's Nick, I'm from Chicago, lived in LA, and I'm a complicated man."

Nevermind that he'd just summed himself up pretty well like one date prior.

"Tell me about you."

"First you have to tell me what is so complicated about you," Lucille said, "or if that is just a way to seem more mysterious and intriguing."

He didn't come across like a hero from a gothic romance, after all.

"I went to law school but didn't like what it was making me into, and now I work at a school where they keep telling me zombies are real," he said. "Not mysterious. Just complicated."

"I'm not sure how that could be considered complicated," Lucille said. "I had expected you to have, say, been orphaned at an early age and raised by your aging aunt in a crumbling old castle."

"A castle? Who grows up in a castle?" Nick asked. "Going to school in it is one thing."

"There are plenty of castles in the world," Lucille said, irritated. "People live in them. But fine, a crumbling old mansion, then. I grew up in one."

"Regardless, you are missing the point."

It was good timing, because right after that the bell rang.
