Three Minute Dates- Caritas- Saturday before 8:15 pm

It was that time agaaaaaain! There was a sign on the door and a banner above the stage.

THREE MINUTE DATES

Or maybe, perchance, you totally missed it somehow, and didn't run from the bar before Tino could sign you up for dates. It happens!

And then a few minutes before 8:00, Kitty took the stage under the banner, to a drumroll from the zombie drummer.

"Hello and welcome to another installment of Three Minute Dates!" Kitty began. "In case you're new to this, in a couple minutes I'm going to call out sets of names. You'll find that person, talk to them for a whole three minutes. When you hear this siren-" Oh, that was an obnoxious air horn sound. "-you'll get a new person to talk to. If you got sucked into this without your knowledge, sorry, and also it's fifteen minutes of your life, make some new friends!"

For someone who was still getting used to socialising, Goose didn’t think the evening had been all that bad, he approached Eliot, “I’m Shane Gooseman,” he introduced himself, nodding in greeting, “most people call me Goose,”

"Of course they do," Eliot said, amused. "And what do you do, Goose?"

“I teach engineering up at the school,” he replied, it still felt weird saying he was a teacher, “currently reassigned from the Series 5 Galaxy Ranger taskforce back home,” he paused, “how about you?”

“Galaxy Ranger, eh? I do enjoy a man in uniform.” Eliot gave a languid shrug. “I’m High King of Fillory back home. Here, I clerk in a magic shop. Or will, starting Monday.”

So the second person he’d met who was royalty at Fandom.

“I’ve never heard of Fillory before.” Goose remarked, “is that on Earth? Or a different planet?” there was a pause “Er…your highness?” it came out more of a question than it was meant to since he still wasn’t fully sure how royal protocol worked.

“Majesty, technically, but I don’t stand on ceremony. Eliot will do fine.”

He shrugged.

“Fillory is . . . ‘planet’ works. It’s its own world. Operates by its own rules. Talking animals, magic plants, the like.”

"We have nothing like that back home," Goose told him, "The League of Planets has quite a few different worlds but no talking animals as far as I'm aware. I’m from West Australia myself, it’s 2106 for me back home,” he added.

“The future, huh? Is the past like some giant letdown for you?”

"It hasn't been too bad," Goose said, "I've lived in Fandom before, I was a student here...well I was part of the 2014 graduating class last year but time moved a lot more quickly for Fandom when I went back home,"

“Fillory runs on a different schedule than Earth, too. A couple of weeks for my friends in New York would be months for us there.”
