Three Minute Dates- Caritas- Saturday before 8:15 pm

It was that time agaaaaaain! There was a sign on the door and a banner above the stage.

CARITAS PRESENTS
THREE MINUTE DATES

Or maybe, perchance, you totally missed it somehow, and didn't run from the bar before Tino could sign you up for dates. It happens!

And then a few minutes before 8:00, Kitty took the stage under the banner, to a drumroll from the zombie drummer.

"Hello and welcome to another installment of Three Minute Dates!" Kitty began. "In case you're new to this, in a couple minutes I'm going to call out sets of names. You'll find that person, talk to them for a whole three minutes. When you hear this siren-" Oh, that was an obnoxious air horn sound. "-you'll get a new person to talk to. If you got sucked into this without your knowledge, sorry, and also it's fifteen minutes of your life, make some new friends!"

“Well, you’ve got a vibe, I’ll give you that,” Margo said. She sipped her g&t casually, looking the guy over.

To that, Shunsui could only grin broadly, tipping his hat and letting it sweep into a flourishing bow that made the most of those fluttering, flowing robes of his before his attention feel entirely on where it planned to be for the next three minutes.

"Very kind of you to notice ♥," he said. "I can rather say same for you, my dear ♥. And how fortunate for me, that the first unfamiliar face I should encounter for this event should be such a strikingly stunning one ♥."

He did have a rather particular soft spot for eyepatches.

(In more ways than one).

“Yeah, you are very fortunate,” Margo said. She smiled because wow, was this guy a character, right? “I dig your fabrics,” she said, nodding at those flowing robes. “They’re bold.”

And to think, his methods had only become more reserved over the years, too!

"I'm rather fond of them myself ♥," Shunsui noted, and the haori seemed to manage at least one more dramatic little swirl at the edges although, at this point, he was standing rather still, except, of course, for his hands, which were holding a jug and a small, flat cup all of a sudden. "I don't see the point in fashion if it's just going to be drab and boring and uniform. And who doesn't like pink ♥? It's the color of a cherry blossom on a breezy spring day, or the coy blush painted delicately on the cheek of a beautiful woman..."

Or...something else he could have said, but, well, they'd only just met.

And as he waxed poetical, he poured, so that when he finished, the cup was being offered out.

"Do you like sake, Margo-chan ♥?"

“Oh, I absolutely do, thank you,” Margo assured him as she took it. “Did you bring that yourself?”

Absolutely nothing in her coquettish smile screamed ‘I’m about to magically check this drink for roofies’. She was already prepping the spell in the back of her head.

And even if there was even a hint of that, it wasn't as if Shunsui would entirely blame her.

But for the time being, he just looked positively pleased as punch that the drink had been accepted, even in lieu of drinks already having been obtained, and then promptly began to pour one for himself as well.

"I most certainly did ♥," he informed her proudly. "I never leave home without it ♥. I'd hate to have to suffer the tragedy of a situation where I might find myself in conversation with a beautiful woman and not have something to offer her to drink, that'd just be terrible rude ♥."

He said.

While in a bar.

With absolutely no shortage of alcohol.

Clearly, that wasn't the point.

“And you don’t trust the quality of the local liquor?” Margo asked, leaning forward, her hand making a swift spiraling motion above the sake in her glass. “Or do they not carry the right variety of sake around here? I know some of these small-town bars aren’t always the greatest about foreign, unfamiliar liquor.”

The liquid in her glass didn’t show a hint of a color shift. Good. She took an idle sip.

"Oh, no," Shunsui assured her with emphasis, "the selection of drinks available at either of our fair island's lovely watering holes has never failed to impress, but it's more of a..." He seemed to take a moment to try and find the right word before ducking his head with a smile as it tumbled out, "gesture...than anything else. An act of goodwill, to share one's finest sake with equally fine company ♥."

With that, he lifted his own cup with a wink, letting the jug fall back to where it hung from his sash along with his swords, and sipped, with a pleased sigh.

"But our time," he noted, "is precious. What is the one thing you feel I should take with me about yourself, Margo-chan, before we must inevitably, unfortunately, depressingly," the smile on his face seemed to be a particularly playful contrast to the chosen word, "part ways ♥?"

“I run a place called Pick Your Poison, I live in town,” Margo said. Hm. What else did he need to know? She looked at her sake thoughtfully. “And, hm. . . I wouldn’t mind seeing those fabrics on my floor sometime.”

Perfect.

It really, really was.

Color Shunsui both impressed and delighted, expressions he did not even bother to keep from his face in the slightest.

"They really do make a room pop ♥," he assured her "And the night may be young, and you're no doubt on your way to--"

The sound of an airhorn cut through the air, and Shunsui's sentence, and he lifted his eyebrows with a pause to wait for it to kindly finish, so that he could do the same.

"--charm your way gracefully through the rest of this, but I would hate to leave a woman waiting, especially when it comes to such a newly discovered passion for...interior design ♥."

What could she say? It was never a bad thing to make sure everyone got the right idea from the get-go, and that included establishing who was in charge here.

She smiled over the rim of her sake, pleased. “We’ll see, honey,” Margo said, shimmying in her seat. “Maybe your lucky number’s already up at the end of the night, maybe it isn’t.”

"Lady Luck," Shunsui assured her, as he himself swept easily, gracefully out of his own seat as if the call of the next round itself was pulling him away, with a wink and a tilt of his hat, "always has been a good friend of mine ♥. I look forward to seeing where the dice may lie ♥."

And, with that, called by that oh-so-sweet siren song of the airhorn, he drifted away to his next match, really wishing he'd thought to bring a few cherry blossoms to scatter to the wind for his exits. What a missed opportunity!
