Three Minute Dates- Caritas- Saturday before 8:15 pm

It was that time agaaaaaain! There was a sign on the door and a banner above the stage.

CARITAS PRESENTS
THREE MINUTE DATES

Or maybe, perchance, you totally missed it somehow, and didn't run from the bar before Tino could sign you up for dates. It happens!

And then a few minutes before 8:00, Kitty took the stage under the banner, to a drumroll from the zombie drummer.

"Hello and welcome to another installment of Three Minute Dates!" Kitty began. "In case you're new to this, in a couple minutes I'm going to call out sets of names. You'll find that person, talk to them for a whole three minutes. When you hear this siren-" Oh, that was an obnoxious air horn sound. "-you'll get a new person to talk to. If you got sucked into this without your knowledge, sorry, and also it's fifteen minutes of your life, make some new friends!"


[So much OCD incoming. OCD is up! Date away! A post for Caritas after the dates will go up Saturday!]

And, just like that, there they were in the final round and Amaya presumably hadn't had a bad time of it at all!

"Dr. Lecter," she greeted with a fancy sort of nod that she felt just went along with an interaction with Hannibal, "good to see you. Have you had a good evening?"

"It has been interesting." Hannibal smiled and nodded back to her. "I'm afraid most of my 'dates' were former students, but it's still been good to meet people. And yours?"

"No former students on my end," Amaya admitted, although, really, looking around, she was pretty sure that would only have been Prompto, anyway, and...well, actually..."but I guess there was a little bit of awkwardness on the one with the person who sucked my blood this one time..."

Speaking of awkward, that just sort of hung there for a moment before she added, a bit more brightly, "But there's been a few people who seemed interested in my work, so over all, I'd say it's been pretty successful."

Because these weren't really dates for Amaya. She didn't really date.

Market herself, however....

"Say," she said, "don't suppose you're in the market for any metal or weapon work these days, are you, Dr. Lecter?"

Hannibal raised his eyebrows. "As it happens, I've been looking to replace all of my good silverware, as it went 'missing' while we were in that hole." Faye. "Do you work in silver?

"Apart from that, now you mention it, my fireplace is being redone, and a new screen and tools wouldn't go amiss. And if you work in kitchen knives, I'm always interested in anything special."

Ohhh, this was making having to pretend she didn't barter with Irene completely worth it, and Amaya's blue eyes were shining.

"Oh, I definitely work with any kind of knives," she assured Hannibal. "Some of the sharpest, finest, best balanced blades you're likely to see! And while I don't come across silver very often, I would love to sink my teeth into a project like that. I imagine a good set of silverwear involves a little bit of futsy work, and I don't get nearly enough of that these days! And a fireplace screen and tools? Easy. I could whip those up in my sleep!"

A pause.

"But I won't," she added. "Only my best, completely awake work, I can guarantee it!"

Hannibal chuckled. "I believe you. I don't think you'd ever do less than your best." He respected that about her. "And I can pay in money, meat on sticks, or any combination thereof," he said, grinning.

"I do have a weakness for meats on sticks," Amaya confessed, as if this wasn't a fact that Hannibal was already well aware of and had, in the past, exploited to very effective means in the past.

See, Irene? That was how you bartered with a Blackstone! You'd been on the right track, you just wound up targeting the wrong anatomy with the wrong....

Anyway, this analogy was getting away with her.

"We can hammer out the finer details of compensation maybe alittle closer to the completion of the projects at hand," she suggested, and was now feeling very glad this was the last one, because now she was hungry.
