Three Minute Dates- Caritas- Saturday before 8:15 pm

It was that time agaaaaaain! There was a sign on the door and a banner above the stage.

CARITAS PRESENTS
THREE MINUTE DATES

Or maybe, perchance, you totally missed it somehow, and didn't run from the bar before Tino could sign you up for dates. It happens!

And then a few minutes before 8:00, Kitty took the stage under the banner, to a drumroll from the zombie drummer.

"Hello and welcome to another installment of Three Minute Dates!" Kitty began. "In case you're new to this, in a couple minutes I'm going to call out sets of names. You'll find that person, talk to them for a whole three minutes. When you hear this siren-" Oh, that was an obnoxious air horn sound. "-you'll get a new person to talk to. If you got sucked into this without your knowledge, sorry, and also it's fifteen minutes of your life, make some new friends!"

"Aw, Nick, you flatterer," Annie replied with a grin. "I'm so glad I made such an impression!"

To be fair: this was how she knew a lot of people, the drink-serving thing.

"Any luck with your dates?"

"Definitely not," he said immediately. "But it didn't end in tears, and that's all I ask. Unless this just goes really badly."

"I think we're fine unless you wanna arm-wrestle."

In which case it would not be Annie's tears in question, probably.

"The fact that you brought that up means I don't wanna find out why it's a bad idea," he said.

"I wouldn't break your arm or anything," Annie offered, smiling. "But you would lose."

Just a fact, Nick.

"I'm not quite as strong as Jessica, but close," she added, because she was pretty sure Nick and Jessica had been chit-chatting in her bar a couple weeks ago and you know what, Jess, she was just gonna talk you up a little bit.

"She lifted a car. But I kind of think maybe there was a toddler stuck under it and I just didn't see."

He liked his denial, okay.

Annie, who could also lift a car, replied, "She's really heroic. I wouldn't be surprised if she was saving a kid, that would totally track."

Jessica would probably yank Annie out of here by the ear for using the H-word, in fact.
