Caritas- Saturday before 8:15 pm

It was that time of year again! New people were here! New people to date, get to know, or perhaps make a mortal enemy of!

You never know.

Signs were hung up in front of the bar, both obviously, and easy to miss for anyone who might wander in and get signed up without their knowledge. Above the bar was a banner (in glitter):

TONIGHT!
THREE MINUTE DATES!
GOOD LUCK WBRURBODY

Your hostess wasn't gonna question it. And a few minutes before 8:00, she took the stage.

"Hello, everyone! And welcome to Three Minute Dates!" Kitty greeted them. "If you're new to this, the rules are simple. We call your name along with one other person. You talk to this person, get to know their likes, their loves, their dreams. After three minutes, a buzzer will sound-" Pause for the sound. "-and you'll hear your name paired with a different person. Et cetera. If there is anyone you'd like to talk to more, the bar will be open afterwards for drinks and conversation. Remember that any violence will get you transported into the pond, but also please don't attempt violence in order to flee, that is rude to the rest of your dates. Now I'm going to get off the stage. Have fun, and good luck..."

She trailed off, not going to attempt to pronounce the word on that sign.

So far this didn't seem to be going so bad, Alara took her seat as she waited for the next round to begin.

"I need to be as drunk as Michelle to enjoy this," Clare muttered as she sat down. "Hello! I'm Clare."

“Hi Clare,” Alara smiled, “I’m Alara, it’s nice to meet you,” she paused, as she considered the muttering, “how has your evening been so far?” she figured it didn’t hurt to ask.

"Well, my first person was blue," Clare said. "I didn't mention it in case maybe she didn't know?"

Alara nodded, "the only blue person I've met is Kurt," she added, since Clare had mentioned she so she was pretty sure it wasn't Kurt she was talking about, "even back home there's not a lot of people who are blue,"

Well she was sure there were more species that were but Xelaya didn't have a lot of interaction with the galactic community.

"There are zero people at home who are blue," Clare said. "They cannae even have blue hair on account of their mothers killing them stone dead for it."

That was an exaggeration, Clare.

Alara blinked a bit, "really?" she couldn't imagine such a thing happening on Xelaya, even though admittedly a lot of people didn't dye their hair either, "that must be quite horrifying, is it just the colour blue or any hair colour?"

"Well, what would the neighbors say on account of your child looking like a reprobate and a punk and an English punk at that?" Clare said. "They could never hold their head up at church again!"

Someone had heard this lecture a few times.

“Oh,” Alara still wasn’t sure what to make of it but it did sound like it was a big deal.

“I’ve never heard of anything like that that,” she admitted, “even though we don’t have churches back home,”
