It was that time of year again! New people were here! New people to date, get to know, or perhaps make a mortal enemy of!

You never know.

Signs were hung up in front of the bar, both obviously, and easy to miss for anyone who might wander in and get signed up without their knowledge. Above the bar was a banner (in glitter):

TONIGHT!
THREE MINUTE DATES!
GOOD LUCK WBRURBODY

Your hostess wasn't gonna question it. And a few minutes before 8:00, she took the stage.

"Hello, everyone! And welcome to Three Minute Dates!" Kitty greeted them. "If you're new to this, the rules are simple. We call your name along with one other person. You talk to this person, get to know their likes, their loves, their dreams. After three minutes, a buzzer will sound-" Pause for the sound. "-and you'll hear your name paired with a different person. Et cetera. If there is anyone you'd like to talk to more, the bar will be open afterwards for drinks and conversation. Remember that any violence will get you transported into the pond, but also please don't attempt violence in order to flee, that is rude to the rest of your dates. Now I'm going to get off the stage. Have fun, and good luck..."

She trailed off, not going to attempt to pronounce the word on that sign.

"Ah-ha! Raiden!" Sidon, after settling oh-so-careful into his chair and trying not to think too much about the worrisome creak it seemed to give underneath his massive size, flashed nothing but the brightest, toothiest grin at his first date for the evening. "My good pizza friend! How good it is to see you on this fine night! I trust you've been well?"

"Sidon!" Raiden said cheerfully. "I've been doing well, settling in, you know how it goes. There was that day everything was on fire, but nothing's perfect. How have you been doing? Did you enjoy the pizza?"

"Ah, they were, indeed, nothing short of marvelous!" Sidon was clearly happy to report. "Though I truly expected no less! I have been meaning to stop by again, to see what other tantalizing pizza treats you may be bring to the table, so to speak, but between my class, my princely duties back home, and preparing both the animal shelter and myself for the upcoming winter months, I have been quite busy! I'm glad that I was able to make some time to come out for this, though, it's always an absolute delight."

Even if it did involve all this sitting.

"Wow!" Raiden exclaimed. "Sounds like you're really busy. I'm glad you were able to make time for this tonight, too, and I hope you can make time for pizza sometimes." There should always be time for pizza.

"Ah, there should always be time for pizza!" said Sidon, with a chuckle, because spot on, narrative. Spot on!

"And to think!" he added. "I didn't even mention the frequent excursions out into the ocean, which have been frequent, indeed! I have to get the most of my swims these days, while I still can!"

"Before it gets too cold?" Raiden guessed. "Yeah, winter's coming, huh?" He wondered how different it would be from back home.

"We still have some time," Sidon allowed, "but it will be here before we know it, and, I have to admit, as much as I do love this fair isle, it does get rather difficult for me in the cold. We Zora, we...do not handle very extreme weather very well, although I must say, my exposure to such things during my time here has made me at least a bit more robust than most of my kind."

"At least it's not any further north, I guess," Raiden mused. If this place was in Maine, Sidon would probably be in trouble, but Gray probably wouldn't make it through that winter, either, so not just a shark guy thing. "I think it's probably going to be a milder winter than it is where I'm from, but I'm not counting my chickens just yet."

"And where is it," Sidon ventured, with genuine interest, as always, to potentially learn about new places, "that you are from? And how harsh do the winters tend to be?"
