Caritas; Wednesday [07/10].

Tino was telling Summer all about his weekend, which sounded enough like any other weekend that Tino would tell her about that she started to become increasingly uncertain as to whether or not, from what he was telling her, he had actually been affected by the weekend at all. She tried to ask some revealing questions to help her pin it down a little more, but to no avail. Each answer seemed as frustratingly vague and uncertain as the last.

So finally, she just straight up and asked how old he was now and how old he was during the weekend, to which he just gasped and got all offended that she would even ask him something like that, and then he gave her the cold shoulder for the rest of the shift.

Which, really, was Summer preferred state of being behind the bar, so it all kind of worked out, really.

“Hello best teacher ever!” Kamala said arriving at the bar ready for a fun night of karaoke. And then realized she was at a bar. “So I know this is really going to sound nerdy but do you serve drinks that don’t have alcohol in them?”

Guess who has never been in a bar before. Guess.

Hmmmm. That was a tough one.

Summer regarded Kamala's greeting with a lifted brow but clear amusement on her face before she gave a confirming nod. "We do, in fact, serve drinks that don't have alcohol in them," she assured her. "And not even just water! We got sodas, I can mix a pretty mean mocktail, and I've even got virgin versions of all my jello shots, too."

She considered Kamala for another moment before also adding, "And FYI, this particular bar has a thing where I actually can serve alcohol to customers under 21, so if you still wanted to get your booze on, that is also an option."

"Hey, bestie," Kamala said, looking very cool and not at all stressed or anxious or nervous or any of those other emotions that were anything other than chill and collected. Because she was. Those things. Absolutely.

"So we, uh. Doin' this?"

And that was... a, for her standards at least, very much unburdened Jesse who walked in, and picked the seat that had once been her usual, and smiled at Summer.

"Hi."

And honestly? You loved to see it.

Summer immediately, easily, smiled back, looking quite pleased for this Jesse reclaiming her rightful spot and already getting her the most generic-ass beer ever.

(It felt like a fair assumption, and even if she was in the mood for something else, she didn't think Jesse would really turn it down).

"Heeeeeyyyyy," she greeted back. "What's up?"

"Okay," Margo said, as she stalked in, opened her mouth to order, and then looked up at the specials board with... a narrowing of the eyes.

"Okay, get me a Long Island Ice Tea and one of those pink gin martinis," she said.

The whole starting-to-order, look-at-the-specials-board, stop-ordering, and reroute moment was always, always, always going to be one of Summer's absolute favorite moments ever.

"Sure thing, Margo," she said, getting started on the Long Island first. "How's things?"

Oh, now this person was interesting. Gorgeous, clearly knew it, fashionable eye-patch, and just radiating that she could kill if she wanted to?

Remy could definitely see himself getting into deep trouble with this one.

Eleanor wasn't really sure about any of this, and was still mostly convinced it was a terrible idea, but it was hard to really stick to that conviction when another part of her was desperately eager to come out tonight. It felt much easier to justify if she just really leaned into the whole 'supporting Arden' thing, because, well, she might be a monster, but she wasn't a monster. Arden had been nothing but so kind and welcoming to her; it was the absolute least she could do to show up for Kamala's karaoke party for her.

She wasn't entirely sure what she should be ordering, though, so she was mostly considering the specials board because that might be easier than trying to worry about what might be cool to order and the reprimand herself for trying to come off as cool in the first place.

"You came!" Kamala was ecstatic as she rushed over with her mocktail. "Good. I'm so glad you did. Apparently they don't card here so you can have drinks if you want! I don't because that's a thing I don't do but you can if you want."

"Eleanor, hi!" Arden said, sounding very relieved to see her. "Thanks for coming out to the karaoke girls night Kamala is...uh. Throwing me? Is that the right way to say it?"

Beat.

"Unless you're here for a completely different reason, and then I'm sorry for just assuming and, yeah okay, I'm already doing great."

"Oh, red velvet," Harley sighed with deep approval and appreciation as she made it to where she could see the specials, "one of those, please."

But as absolutely entralled she was with the concept, she still managed to actually look at Summer, too.

"Hi, Summer, how ya doin'? Bar treating you okay? Nothing too weird?"

"Hey, Harley," said Summer, her grin containing a little bit of a proud beam for having been able to elicit a reaction like that, and happily obliging by getting her one. "Been doing okay, bar's pretty good. Nothing too weird, but nothing so not weird that it's weird how weird it isn't."

Everyone followed that, right?

"How 'bout you? What you been up to?"

Stark headed for his usual stool but stopped before he sat down for the maybe-now-usual lean across the bar for a quick kiss hello.

Followed by a soft "hi" and a smile.

She started setting out his shots for him.

So today had already been a whole fuckin'week. Her unexpected conversation with Gray in the library had already thrown her off-kilter, and then there'd been Shenanigans, and if that hadn't pitched her anxiety through the roof, there was the realization that she had no idea what to wear to a Girls' Karaoke Night at the bar. On the plus side, overthinking what to wear had definitely stopped her from overthinking pretty much everything else, so....bonus?

But now she was here and eyeing a drink because she was pretty sure she was due one.

Yeah, Summer could practically feel that need for a drink from all the way across the bar. So when she made it over to Arden, she did so with a sympathetic smile, a good old classic toss of a bartowel over her shoulder, and a prompto.

"So," she said, with an additional glance over to the specials board before looking back to Arden, "what's looking good?"

Harley had been idly squinting at some of her fellow club patrons for a while, before eventually catching Arden at an opportune moment to tilt her head and ask, "Why are there so many of you kids here?"

Congrats, Arden, you were now considered the spokesperson for 'the Kids'. Like a ringleader of sorts.

Lydia had absolutely no idea what to expect here, but Kamala had invited her, so here she was.

With zombies.

It must be said that even though she was in one of her modern dresses she looked incredibly out of place.

It had been a while since Cal had been to Caritas, but he was getting the sense it was packed tonight, so here he was. He almost turned around when he saw Lydia some folks who might not want to see him, but maybe he could just grab a drink and wallflower for a bit.
