Valentine's Dance; Town Hall; Friday Evening [8 pm - 10 pm]

Arrivals to town hall would notice that the Student Council took a darker approach to the decorations this year. The colors of the streamers, balloons and table cloths were in shades of dark red and black. Instead of cut outs of hearts and pictures of cupid, there were broken mirrors hanging on the walls, open umbrellas scattered about the room, fake cobwebs on the wall and glittery cut outs of the number "13" hung everywhere.

You even had to walk under a huge ladder in order to get into the dance.

Sure, they were tempting fate by having a Friday the 13th themed dance but this was Fandom. What's the worst that could happen?

She grinned wide and totally checked him out. "Thank you! And you are dashing, as always."

"Aw, why thank you? This old thing?" He smiled. "How are you? It's been awhile since I've seen you."

"I'm great tonight," she said, blinking up at him and choosing not to mention how she was yesterday, or the day before that, and the day before that and so on. "How are you, is more important?"

"Can't complain," he said and smiled. "I'm not speaking everything on my mind and I'm not wearing a big, fat hat on my head so today is a good day. I might even dance."

She giggled. "Yay for not speaking the truth! It would get me in trouble tonight for sure. And I'm totally not wee and sucking blood and I know I'm going to be dancing later."

"Yeah, I heard about your shenanigans this weekend," he teased lightly. "I managed to stay mostly normal so I missed all that. Sounds like you got an interesting alter ego sort of person."

She shrugged her shoulders carelessly. "I guess I just like sucking on people." Hee hee.

"That's not always a bad thing," he laughed. "And besides, they're all okay and everyone's fine and the island is just weird. So you went a weekend sucking on people. It could have been worse."

"No one died, so yay!" she said, nodding emphatically. "You came alone tonight, uh?"

"Yeah, going stag," he said. "But really, I'm not alone. The whole school's here!"

Well, at least he thought the whole school should be here.

"Yah, d'uh, Hannibal," replied Amber, giving him a playful roll of her eyes. "But I'm so excited about this dance! I even like the theme. Isn't it cool?"

"I was honestly expecting a whole bunch of pink and red hearts," he said, impressed. "This wasn't expected which makes it great. Very creative. I didn't even realize it was Friday the thirteenth until getting here."

Amber looked around and sighed in contentment. "I think it's perfect. 'Course there should be some purple balloons too, but it's so cool. Just watch out for the black cats," she teased. "Halloween in February totally works."

"Purple balloons?" Hannibal asked. "Not sure if I've heard that one."

"What's wrong with purple balloons? They're awesome. And purple." Therefore perfect.

"Nothing!" Hannibal said and laughed. "I didn't know if they were a superstition type thing that I hadn't heard of is all. I like purple too."

Giggling, she had to shake her head. "If so, I've not heard. And if I ever find out there is, I might be highly disappointed. Especially if it's a wicked superstition." Were there such a thing.

"I think we've all already laughed in the face of bad luck tonight," he said, looking around, "so even if they were, we'd just be adding fuel to an already burning fire. Got plans for tomorrow?"

"So I'll just keep laughing," she grinned. "And... no. Do you?"

"And nope, not as far as I know," he said. "Might just get a pizza or even hit the mainland."

"Pizza and chocolate," she suggested. "A winner there for sure. Hm." She glanced over in Liir's direction. "Surely we're going to plan something. I hope."

"Maybe he's surprising you," Hannibal suggested. "Some guys are like that. Don't give away their top secret plans before the big day."

"Uh. Liir doesn't do surprises. Maybe I should surprise him," she said with a little waggling of her brows.

"See, that's hot," he said and winked. "Girls surprising the guy? Hot. I love when someone does that to me."

"Really?" she asked, encouraged now. "Then maybe I should consider this more fully. Like... what to do for instance."
