As the sun started to set, the lights officially came on at the new community center! The building was now complete, its walls gleaming and solid in the waning light. As people began to arrive, they would notice decorations lining the tiled and bright corridors, leading them towards the large auditorium where the dance was being held.

Once inside the auditorium, there were more decorations. Streamers in the colors of summer hung from the rafters and painted the walls. There were fresh flowers in every corner and on every table, bringing fragrance and festiveness to the room. The lights were low in the auditorium, dimmed to provide both mood and setting to this party in the evening.

There were several long tables stocked full with foods of all kinds and there was even a bar with an expert bartender who'd be happy to serve you. Tips were welcome but not mandatory. Large speakers hung in the corners of the room, installed to provide the latest and greatest sound system to the new building.

Everything was completed, everything was ready so it was time to enjoy yourselves!

"Sleeping outside?" Bod asked, raising an eyebrow. "What do you sleep on? The grass?"

"Something like that," Jacob said, realising that maybe he should start being upfront to his roommate. "I'll explain when we're not in the middle of a party."

"Interesting," Bod said, nodding. "You've me curious now. As long as you don't tell me you're really girl, I'm sure I could handle it."

Jacob rolled his eyes at Bod, almost stuck his tongue out too but that wouldn't do his suit justice. "Yes, my real name is Jacoba. I change only when there's a full moon."

"That's an awful name, Jacoba," Bod said, playing along. "I would hope you'd change it at some point because that is truly awful."

"My friends just say Jaca," Jacob deadpanned.

"I don't know if that's much better," he said, thinking it over. "It almost has the sound of a child's toy."

Jacob shook his head and sniffed. "Shows how little you know."

"You're quite the haughty girl," Bod said, snickering. "I've been living with such a phony the last few months, have I?"

"It just shows that I'm in touch with both my sides," Jacob replied.

"Which side you do you prefer?" Bod asked curiously.

"The one that lets me braid my hair," he snorted. He'd have to grow it out for that.

"I think it's going to be some time before you can do that," Bod said, glancing at Jacob's hair. "It's a little short."

"I could braid yours," he offered. "Or paint your nails. Pink is so your color."

"You're just asking me to stuff your bed with flowers and mulch before we move back," Bod warned. "You're really just asking for it."

"Sure sure," he nodded, "but then you'll be sleeping in it."

"You don't think I've find somewhere else to be when you came back and discovered it?" Bod knew when to make a strategic retreat.

"You could try, but I'll probably find you eventually," Jacob reasoned.

"But I thought we were friends," he said, smirking. "Would you do that to a friend?"

"If you put flowers and mulch in my bed, I'm reconsidering our friendship," Jacob informed him.

"Your bed would smell good though," Bod pointed out. "Fresh and fragrant. Surely you'd be in favor of that."

"How about you try it out and then you can tell me if it's worth it?" he suggested, laughing. "And what do you have against my bed anyway?"

"I'm not sure exactly," Bod shaking his head. "I think because putting flowers in your clothes just seems rather cruel."

"How about my shoes," he suggested. "That'd be constructive."

"You're giving me suggestions on how to be evil?" Bod asked, raising an eyebrow. "You really are feeling helpful."
