Summer Dance/Gala Event | Evening | Saturday | June 19

As the sun started to set, the lights officially came on at the new community center! The building was now complete, its walls gleaming and solid in the waning light. As people began to arrive, they would notice decorations lining the tiled and bright corridors, leading them towards the large auditorium where the dance was being held.

Once inside the auditorium, there were more decorations. Streamers in the colors of summer hung from the rafters and painted the walls. There were fresh flowers in every corner and on every table, bringing fragrance and festiveness to the room. The lights were low in the auditorium, dimmed to provide both mood and setting to this party in the evening.

There were several long tables stocked full with foods of all kinds and there was even a bar with an expert bartender who'd be happy to serve you. Tips were welcome but not mandatory. Large speakers hung in the corners of the room, installed to provide the latest and greatest sound system to the new building.

Everything was completed, everything was ready so it was time to enjoy yourselves!

Jake very clearly remembered a certain challenge made to him about how he cleaned up. Which he'd taken to heart and he'd even gone so far as to prove he could pull off an actual bowtie. He thought he succeeded rather well.

Jeff had no date, but he wasn't exactly a slamming date. Still, he was, as always, dutifully there when Fandom had an event, half-hoping to catch a glimpse of Turtle, half-hoping to... manage to talk to a woman for five seconds without saying something horrible.

He looked a little lost in his Hawaiian shirt, but he was there.

Denise was there, but only... not under duress, but definitely under boredom. She hadn't bothered to put on anything fancy, and she was mostly scanning the floor for any wallflowers.

Ender, dressed in a remarkably simple suit, didn't look particularly fussed as he made his way in. His attention was more on the building itself, mapping it out in his mind and making a few mental notes in the process.

Bobby did indeed have a date on his arm, and, yeah, most of his attention was focused on her. He hadn't thought Sookie would've wanted to go to a big social event after the events of the past week but he wasn't about to argue.

Kate was making up for yesterday's modest attire with her dress today. And wearing ballet flats, because she was so not torturing herself with heels after spending almost an entire day wearing them.

She was kind of mostly trying to repress all of that, actually. While looking around for that one guy who might've even been her date tonight, if not for Fandom's wacky interference.

Alex arrived, voluntarily wearing a suit, and looking pretty pleased with everything. It helped that he hadn't been affected by yesterday's weirdness and only had great memories of that day.

And there was a bar. That always made the night better.

Chuck was not about to hide just because yesterday had been a little embarrassing. He showed up to the dance, naturally looking better than everyone else (in his opinion), and in a fairly good mood. Maybe the fact he was leaving soon made him less annoyed with Fandom weirdness.

Bruce had spent a significant portion of his day finding any and all guns he had bought yesterday and disposing of them in a safe and permanent way. A shorter portion of the day was spent doing the same to any flowers he had picked.

So it was refreshing to put on one of his best suits and join the party. Sure, he wasn't a natural partier. But there was nothing like pretending to be something he wasn't to help him bury the memories of how he acted yesterday.

Bod hadn't been out of his alcove since last night so he was really hopeful that whatever had been going on previously was over now. So, he was there, tugging on his tie a little uncomfortably and taking in the surroundings of the new center.

Puck did not have a date on his arm, though he did arrive in a pretty slick suit. It was his birthday, after all, and while he thought he would have done well in his actual...birthday suit, he was pretty sure that'd get him kicked out.

And yeah, for the most part? Pretending yesterday never happened. There was one person he needed to apologize to, but otherwise? Never happened.

There was only the slightest bit of trepidation at coming to the dance this time. It'd been leveling off with each new event he'd been attending and now was just an easily dealt with nervous feeling.

Suit on, he wandered in and looked around, eyes wide, before moving more into the room.

When Hannibal walked into the center, he realized this might be his last dance as an official student. It made him melancholy for a minute before he shook it off, determined to have a good time.

He was steadfastly ignoring how he'd been yesterday. That Hannibal had been a giant drip. Ew.

Loki wasn't exactly the dance type but he decided to make a night out of it. He'd even put on a suit and tried to look like he wasn't bored with everything. He was making an effort.

Beka'd found a dress that seemed suitably enough for the dance, it was a deep greenish blue that she didn't know the name of. The thin straps showed off her shoulder without showing off too much of her peaches. It seemed well enough, even if mayhap Emma might disagree.

Rosalind hadn't even bothered to dress up for this event.

She'd simply made sure her suit was neat (it was always neat), shined her shoes (not that they had needed it), and brushed her hair so it was tidy.

That was the nice thing to wearing a suit all the time. She fit in easily at events like this.

For the second night in a row, Lindsay was wearing a dress (http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l165/Landslide418/Miscellaneous/Fandom%20High/Random/lindsgala.png). This time there was a much better reason for it. At least this was one was a lot nicer, too.

Jack didn't have a date, though he was keeping an eye out for Emma. He hadn't heard from her since she went off with Sookie.

But this was his last dance before leaving the island and he wasn't overly worried about Emma. He looked his best as he got to the hall and, wine in hand, began mingling through the crowd.

There's long tables with all sorts of food on them and a bar to get you something to wet your whistle! There's also plenty of room to find your friends, new and old, to chat with and laugh with!
