As the sun started to set, the lights officially came on at the new community center! The building was now complete, its walls gleaming and solid in the waning light. As people began to arrive, they would notice decorations lining the tiled and bright corridors, leading them towards the large auditorium where the dance was being held.

Once inside the auditorium, there were more decorations. Streamers in the colors of summer hung from the rafters and painted the walls. There were fresh flowers in every corner and on every table, bringing fragrance and festiveness to the room. The lights were low in the auditorium, dimmed to provide both mood and setting to this party in the evening.

There were several long tables stocked full with foods of all kinds and there was even a bar with an expert bartender who'd be happy to serve you. Tips were welcome but not mandatory. Large speakers hung in the corners of the room, installed to provide the latest and greatest sound system to the new building.

Everything was completed, everything was ready so it was time to enjoy yourselves!

"Hey," he grinned, and this had to be the first time he'd seen her wearing a dress. "Only wave that at me if you're planning on letting me eat it," he warned.

It was also the only dress she owned, so if he saw her in a dress again it was likely to be the same one.

What? It wasn't like guys went and got different suits for every dance.

She glared, playfully defiant, at him before biting in to the cookie emphatically. "Not for you!" she declared.

Hey, he wasn't one to judge. This suit had cost enough and he didn't have money to throw around to get one for every dance, so maybe he'd just get a regular tie for the next dance. Or something.

"Mean," he sighed, giving the cookie a longing look. "I was going to say you look pretty, but now you just look pretty cruel."

She smirked at him. "You can hunt your own!" she pointed out. "Is easier even than rabbits." For one, rabbits could run. Cookies could not.

"Yeah, but you just ruined your chance at being my favorite person here," he sighed dramatically.

"My heart is sad at such news," she said, equally theatrically.

"It should be," he nodded and quickly leaned forward to try and snag the cookie away from her.

Firekeeper clucked her tongue chidingly at Jacob and ducked out of the way. "You shall have to be faster than that," she taunted.

"I can be," he laughed, but he let it be. "Cruel. Is that why Blind Seer dissed you?"

"...'Dissed'?"

"Stood you up," he clarified. "I'm used to seeing him tag along. He'd look cute in a bowtie."

"Would like to see you try to put such on him," Firekeeper snorted. Blind Seer would likely try and bite Jacob's hand off first. "He is not much one for dances. Too many people." She wasn't fond of crowds either, but for dancing was willing to make an exception.

It'd be fun to try anyway, but he could get that. "Too many scents and too much noise," he agreed. "But you like them?"

"I like music, and dancing," she shrugged. "Enough that crowds is worth it."

He tilted his head, pretending to consider that. "Well, there's music, but you're not dancing so far."

"Perhaps I have not found one suitable to dance with," she pointed out.

"You found me," he pointed out, glancing down at himself. "I think I'm pretty suitable?"

"You would not step on my toes?" she teased.

"There might be a possibility," he admitted, but so far he hadn't yet. Being a werewolf had its perks. "Think you'd want to risk it?"

"What is life without a little risk?" Firekeeper asked with a philosophical shrug.

"Boring," he decided, reaching for her hand to tug her towards the dancefloor (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/5226090.html?thread=206137450#t206137450) with him.
