Summer Dance/Gala Event | Evening | Saturday | June 19

As the sun started to set, the lights officially came on at the new community center! The building was now complete, its walls gleaming and solid in the waning light. As people began to arrive, they would notice decorations lining the tiled and bright corridors, leading them towards the large auditorium where the dance was being held.

Once inside the auditorium, there were more decorations. Streamers in the colors of summer hung from the rafters and painted the walls. There were fresh flowers in every corner and on every table, bringing fragrance and festiveness to the room. The lights were low in the auditorium, dimmed to provide both mood and setting to this party in the evening.

There were several long tables stocked full with foods of all kinds and there was even a bar with an expert bartender who'd be happy to serve you. Tips were welcome but not mandatory. Large speakers hung in the corners of the room, installed to provide the latest and greatest sound system to the new building.

Everything was completed, everything was ready so it was time to enjoy yourselves!

"How do you think you could do that?" Jonas asked.

She grinned and drew away from him, her fingers brushing the side of his neck briefly as she pulled her arm back. "Tis easy."

"Is it?" Some part of his mind knew what she was going to try and do but he wasn't paying much attention to it. "How so?"

"I'll not kiss you 'til you do," she told him easily, turning her attention to the dancefloor.

"That's not fair," he said and tried to pout. Jonas wasn't a great pouter though so it looked rather forced.

She chuckled at the attempt. "Tis entirely fair," she argued with him, ignoring the pout. Twas kind of cute, even if it didn't look convincing.

"I thought you liked kissing me," he said, still trying valiantly to pout at her.

"I do," she agreed, squeezing his hand. "I'm certain you'll find a way."

"The easiest way is just to kiss me and ignore the arguments I alluded to earlier," he decided, nodding.

"No, that'd only be easy if I were to accomplish your goals," she pointed out. "I want to know what your arguments are."

"They're secrets," he said, frowning at her. "Only to be used when most needed."

"Mayhap they'd be most needed then," she suggested, sounding amused.

"So, if I asked to kiss you now, you'd say no?" he guessed, pouting at her again.

"That seems likely," she nodded, reaching out to pat his cheek.

"Maybe I don't have any arguments," he tried, still trying to pout at her.

She frowned at him. "It'd be sad if you gave up that fast."

"It isn't giving up, it's a fib to try and make you forget that I have arguments," he confessed.

Beka wrinkled her nose at him. "Don't make me box your ears for lying," she teased.

"It was a lie for a good reason," he exclaimed. "It seemed like a good way to end this stalemate."

"Twas worth trying," she allowed, smiling at him. "You'll have to do better."

"And giving up isn't an option either?" Jonas asked, tapping his chin.

"Tis, but I'd be disappointed if that'd be the path you took," she informed him.

"And wouldn't kiss me then?" he asked, weighing his options carefully.

She shook her head. "I'd be too disappointed for kissing," she decided, the corner of her mouth twitching as she tried not to grin.

"Even if I kissed your cheeks and ears and chin to make you feel better?" he asked, smiling as adorably as he could manage.
