Summer Dance/Gala Event | Evening | Saturday | June 19

As the sun started to set, the lights officially came on at the new community center! The building was now complete, its walls gleaming and solid in the waning light. As people began to arrive, they would notice decorations lining the tiled and bright corridors, leading them towards the large auditorium where the dance was being held.

Once inside the auditorium, there were more decorations. Streamers in the colors of summer hung from the rafters and painted the walls. There were fresh flowers in every corner and on every table, bringing fragrance and festiveness to the room. The lights were low in the auditorium, dimmed to provide both mood and setting to this party in the evening.

There were several long tables stocked full with foods of all kinds and there was even a bar with an expert bartender who'd be happy to serve you. Tips were welcome but not mandatory. Large speakers hung in the corners of the room, installed to provide the latest and greatest sound system to the new building.

Everything was completed, everything was ready so it was time to enjoy yourselves!

"So, if I asked to kiss you now, you'd say no?" he guessed, pouting at her again.

"That seems likely," she nodded, reaching out to pat his cheek.

"Maybe I don't have any arguments," he tried, still trying to pout at her.

She frowned at him. "It'd be sad if you gave up that fast."

"It isn't giving up, it's a fib to try and make you forget that I have arguments," he confessed.

Beka wrinkled her nose at him. "Don't make me box your ears for lying," she teased.

"It was a lie for a good reason," he exclaimed. "It seemed like a good way to end this stalemate."

"Twas worth trying," she allowed, smiling at him. "You'll have to do better."

"And giving up isn't an option either?" Jonas asked, tapping his chin.

"Tis, but I'd be disappointed if that'd be the path you took," she informed him.

She shook her head. "I'd be too disappointed for kissing," she decided, the corner of her mouth twitching as she tried not to grin.

"Even if I kissed your cheeks and ears and chin to make you feel better?" he asked, smiling as adorably as he could manage.

The smile worked better than the pout and she ducked her head. "I'd be very disappointed," she repeated. "Mayhap you'd need to do more." Even if it sounded good.

"I could kiss your arms and rub your back and kiss your neck," he offered and now he kind of wanted to do that. "I could slide my fingers through your hair and tickle your neck."

Now she wanted him to do that, which seemed hardly fair. She reached out to catch his tie between her fingers. "That doesn't sound too bad," she murmured, wondering if the room had gotten warmer.

"I'm sure I could find other things to kiss too," he promised, nodding. "Places I haven't yet."

"You're good at exploring," she agreed, her cheeks felt hot and she tugged lightly on his tie to get him to move closer.

"And I'd be thorough," he said, moving closer with that tug. "Very thorough."

Mayhap he'd just given the right arguments, mayhap he'd just manage to convince her. Either way, she leaned up to kiss him and she could be thorough as well.

Jonas didn't even think about this being a victory because he'd forgotten about trying to convince her. Now, he just wanted to kiss her so he was glad when she kissed him. He responded eagerly, leaning close.

They were getting rather good at kissing in public, though she'd not know how that'd happened. It seemed to matter very little at the moment and she nipped gently at his lower lip as she drew back. "This doesn't mean I'll not make you do what you said," she warned him.
