As the sun started to set, the lights officially came on at the new community center! The building was now complete, its walls gleaming and solid in the waning light. As people began to arrive, they would notice decorations lining the tiled and bright corridors, leading them towards the large auditorium where the dance was being held.

Once inside the auditorium, there were more decorations. Streamers in the colors of summer hung from the rafters and painted the walls. There were fresh flowers in every corner and on every table, bringing fragrance and festiveness to the room. The lights were low in the auditorium, dimmed to provide both mood and setting to this party in the evening.

There were several long tables stocked full with foods of all kinds and there was even a bar with an expert bartender who'd be happy to serve you. Tips were welcome but not mandatory. Large speakers hung in the corners of the room, installed to provide the latest and greatest sound system to the new building.

Everything was completed, everything was ready so it was time to enjoy yourselves!

"Thanks," Puck said, giving her a slightly wary look until he realized that she probably was in absolutely no position to make fun of him. "It was nice of the whole town to throw me this party."

Kate snorted. "Yeah, I bet they actually built this whole community center just to have a place to throw you a party," she deadpanned. "'Cause you're just that damn important, Puck."

"I agree," he said sincerely, cocking a grin at her. "I mean, I could do with more statues of me, but the place doesn't look half bad."

Kate rolled her eyes and shook her head, amused. "See, this is exactly the kind of thinking I was trying to prevent by making sure you had your party before this one happened."

"That went well," Puck commented lightly. "Very elegantly."

"Yes, wasn't it just lovely?" Kate retorted. "Not to mention absolutely dignified."

"Who doesn't like decorum and shit?" Puck asked, grinning at her.

"Well, we fucking don't, for just two prime examples," Kate replied, quirking a brow at him, and laughed a bit.

"At least it was memorable," she said then. "Of course, I don't want to remember it, but I don't think I can forget, so..."

"At least other people were embarrassing," Puck added. "You know? It's not like, being bitten by a gremlin or something. At least me and Hannibal were weird, too. We were just...wrong." He gave her a sincerely sad look. "Kate, I turned down a girl. And didn't even try to hit on you."

Kate was torn between just laughing, and actually having some sympathy for his troubles. "How sad for you," was what she settled on, though her sincerity was severely lacking. "I just confused Bod."

Which was plenty damage done, really.

"Not that hard to do," Puck assured her immediately. "He'll be fine."

"Wow, you really have a flattering opinion on his intellect, don't you?" Kate noted, letting a quiet snicker slip out despite herself. She shook her head. "Yeah, I don't think there was any permanent harm done."

Well, she hoped anyway.

"I confuse Bod all the time," Puck replied. "It's not about his intellect. He's just all...confusable. Like a puppy!"

"You sure it's not just you who's never making any sense at him?"

"Not possible!" he declared loftily. "I always make sense."

No. No, Puck. Lies.

"Uh huh, sure," Kate said, in a tone that said exactly the opposite. "I'm kind of having a hard time believing that, sorry."

"I gave him more advice!" Puck told her proudly. "So get ready for that."

"Yeah, I heard. Bod seemed to think some of it might've been usable, this time," Kate told him. "Me? I'm a little bit sceptical."

"Would I lead your boyfriend astray?" Puck asked, raising a brow. "Never."

"Prom. Remember prom, Puck?" Kate wondered, raising a brow right back at him. "So yes, I think you would, actually. Probably not intentionally, but otherwise? Hell yes."

"I'll have you know that the advice I gave Bod for prom would have worked on every one of my ex-girlfriends," Puck replied. "And all the random one night stands. You're just weird." He gave a sad little shrug, like she was beyond help.

"Well, if I'm weird, why do you want to keep giving my boyfriend advice that's probably not going to work on me?" she asked, both curious and amused. "And which I don't think he actually even needs?"

"He keeps asking," Puck replied.

"Does he?"

Well, Kate probably knew better than anyone how curious Bod could be, but still, she wasn't entirely buying that.

"He just keeps asking me about women," Puck said solemnly. "I'm kind of an expert."
