As the sun started to set, the lights officially came on at the new community center! The building was now complete, its walls gleaming and solid in the waning light. As people began to arrive, they would notice decorations lining the tiled and bright corridors, leading them towards the large auditorium where the dance was being held.

Once inside the auditorium, there were more decorations. Streamers in the colors of summer hung from the rafters and painted the walls. There were fresh flowers in every corner and on every table, bringing fragrance and festiveness to the room. The lights were low in the auditorium, dimmed to provide both mood and setting to this party in the evening.

There were several long tables stocked full with foods of all kinds and there was even a bar with an expert bartender who'd be happy to serve you. Tips were welcome but not mandatory. Large speakers hung in the corners of the room, installed to provide the latest and greatest sound system to the new building.

Everything was completed, everything was ready so it was time to enjoy yourselves!

"At the same time?" It was Luke; Tahiri wouldn't put it past him to pull it off effectively. "I suppose it wouldn't help if you told him girls --" as in her, but no need to mention the specifics -- "think it's a little sexy."

"Which girls?" Ben asked, giving her an appraising look. "Would those girls be upset if it was gone?"

"The only one I can speak of for sure, who's the one who got a really good look at it," Tahiri said with a sly smile, "wouldn't cry over it being gone, I can tell you that much."

"I'll be looking into removals soon," Ben promised, leaning in to kiss her.

"I should be sorry about that, huh?" Tahiri asked, then had to pause to kiss him before going on, "Although I suppose I am, since it's kind of a silly one."

"I really couldn't have tried harder to pick a more generic pattern," Ben agreed.

"It is a little bit awful," Tahiri said as diplomatically as she could. "Luckily for you it hasn't chased me away yet."

"If a tattoo was the final straw, I'd really wonder about your devotion to us," he teased.

Tahiri reached out to pull him into a fierce hug. "Don't you ever wonder about that," she said abruptly.

Ben reached down to cup her cheeks with hands. "I never do," he promised, just as serious as she was.

Tahiri was a bit sheepish as she looked into his eyes. "I know. I don't know why I had to say that."

Other than not wanting to leave things unsaid any more, maybe.

"Never second guess those instincts," Ben said with a smile, nudging his nose against hers.

"Not planning on it," Tahiri replied, turning the nudge into an attempt at a kiss. "For instance, I have an instinctive feeling we should hit the dance floor for once, tonight."

He lingered for a bit in the kiss before laughing. "Aunt Leia would be happy."

"It's so weird how much of an interest she takes in us," Tahiri said, blushing slightly. "But it would make me happy, too."

"Well if it would make you happy, we'll do it," Ben declared.

"It's not a dance until the Jedi hit the floor," Tahiri decided, which . . . would probably mean that by her standards most dances in Fandom weren't. Given their track record of never making it there.

"Any Jedi, or us in particular?" Ben asked.

Tahiri glanced quickly around the room. "I think, at the moment, we may be the only ones present to fill the role."

"It's still weird to think of Granddad dancing," Ben admitted.
