As the sun started to set, the lights officially came on at the new community center! The building was now complete, its walls gleaming and solid in the waning light. As people began to arrive, they would notice decorations lining the tiled and bright corridors, leading them towards the large auditorium where the dance was being held.

Once inside the auditorium, there were more decorations. Streamers in the colors of summer hung from the rafters and painted the walls. There were fresh flowers in every corner and on every table, bringing fragrance and festiveness to the room. The lights were low in the auditorium, dimmed to provide both mood and setting to this party in the evening.

There were several long tables stocked full with foods of all kinds and there was even a bar with an expert bartender who'd be happy to serve you. Tips were welcome but not mandatory. Large speakers hung in the corners of the room, installed to provide the latest and greatest sound system to the new building.

Everything was completed, everything was ready so it was time to enjoy yourselves!

Puck led Ariel (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomtownies/5225234.html?thread=206016786#t206016786) out during one of the slower songs, which was fortunate because while he was a really good dancer, he was way better at like, being smooth when he wasn't trying to pay attention to his feet. "You look gorgeous, by the way," he added, because now that he was done apologizing, he had to start building things back up.

Not that he'd really have to built too much. Ariel was desperate here, and she could do a lot worse than Puck in her desperation. She beamed at the compliment, preening a little in a way that suggested that it was really no surprise. As she went to settle into a dancing position, she fixed a steady look at Puck to suggest that he looked pretty incredible himself. Even if he didn't have those....oh, she didn't even know what they were called, but she took a second before going completely dance mode to run her hands down his chest to indicate those two things he had on yesterday that, call her crazy, looked like the were there to hold up a person's pants.

Merpeople didn't even have pants. The whole mechanics of it was really kind of fascinating if you stopped to think about it.

Hey, he was all for anything that had Ariel's hands on his chest. Even if it reminded him of the day prior. And his fashion choices. "Oh, god, no, I'm not ever wearing anything like those suspenders again," he assured her, actually blushing. "Or the bow tie. Don't worry."

Ariel was actually pretty for anything that had her hands on Puck's chest, too; it was such a nice chest that she was tempted to just let them linger there. She giggled a little at his response, the adamant assurance and the unexpected blush, and shrugged a slight shoulder. Didn't matter, really. He still looked good in them, of course.

"No, you don't get it, those things were nerdy as hell," he assured her, as he was starting to get pretty good at reading her. "It's okay, you're like, foreign and don't know better, but I looked dweeby and stupid yesterday. I bet you could pull suspenders off, though."

And, really, Ariel could only give a slightly confused and worried expression to that, because that almost made it sound like Puck was calling her dweeby and stupid and nerdy as hell, if apparently you couldn't wear suspenders without looking like that.

She was pretty sure that's not what he meant, buuuut....

"Because you're hot in anything," Puck concluded, waggling his brows at her suggestively. It sort of helped, anyway. He hoped.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, it did. Ariel was smirking despite her rolling eyes. Besides, it was true. Just ask Jono. He was the one that got to see her wearing nothing but a sail and some rope.

Either way, she figured she'd pass on the suspenders, too.
