Summer Dance/Gala Event | Evening | Saturday | June 19

As the sun started to set, the lights officially came on at the new community center! The building was now complete, its walls gleaming and solid in the waning light. As people began to arrive, they would notice decorations lining the tiled and bright corridors, leading them towards the large auditorium where the dance was being held.

Once inside the auditorium, there were more decorations. Streamers in the colors of summer hung from the rafters and painted the walls. There were fresh flowers in every corner and on every table, bringing fragrance and festiveness to the room. The lights were low in the auditorium, dimmed to provide both mood and setting to this party in the evening.

There were several long tables stocked full with foods of all kinds and there was even a bar with an expert bartender who'd be happy to serve you. Tips were welcome but not mandatory. Large speakers hung in the corners of the room, installed to provide the latest and greatest sound system to the new building.

Everything was completed, everything was ready so it was time to enjoy yourselves!

It made Bod feel better too. Feel better about how he'd seemingly made a mistake yesterday and how he hadn't understood why that had been bad today. It made him relax and let those worries diminish and fade away.

And now he felt like their date was going perfectly well. Not ruined at all.

Kate had been propping herself up against a wall while she took her shoes off, because it wasn't as if she was going to wobble on one foot with no support whatsoever; she wouldn't have wanted to fall down in that dress of hers.

Anyway, they hadn't wandered far from said wall, which meant that Kate was now going to attempt to back towards it, pulling him with her without interrupting the kissing. So she could lean her back against it. Take some of her weight off her poor feet. Or something like that.

No, all worries of the date being ruined had been premature and unnecessary. Entirely.

Bod would have tried supporting her some if he'd been thinking but the wall proved a much better way to ease the pain of her poor feet. It wouldn't get tired like his arms would do after awhile.

And it also meant he could actually press against her, letting his warmth seep into her in all those places where she was just showing skin. He was completely taking advantage of that fact.

And that was exactly why she'd pulled him over here, so she was pretty pleased with it. And deepening the kiss a bit. They were in public, yes, but they were also in a shadowy corner.

Bod responded to that eagerly, having wanted to do it himself. She'd just beaten him to the task and he was all the more thankful. Never was he more thankful for a dark corner and a girl that he really liked.

Kate was pretty thankful for all of this, too. There wasn't a lot of skin for her to touch, but she could still caress his neck and run her fingers through his hair. That satisfied the need to touch well enough.

Along with the kissing – not exactly lazy, anymore – and being pressed between him and the wall, of course.

Unfortunately for her, his suit didn't really provide much area for skin to be exposed but he liked when she touched his neck and got her hands in his hair.

Bod let his hands find her waist and even venture a little further down towards those legs of hers. All the while, he made sure not to stop kissing her. He really didn't want to.

She didn't want to, either. Even he'd been in danger of straying away from the kiss, she had her hands behind his head and could've nudged him back in the right direction.

But as it was, she'd just... keep reminding him why kissing her was overwhelmingly a good thing.

An extremely good thing. There was no need to remind him because he could feel it and taste it right there against him. He didn't need any convincing to know that this was something he could easily spend the rest of the night doing.

Public or not, he was definitely not ready to stop kissing her even if he was managing to keep his hands controlled for the moment.

But reminding him, and putting in that extra effort, was fun! So she tried to do it anyway, knowing neither of them particularly needed it. seeing as there wasn't much else she could do in this situation.

Inside her mind, though... The version of her from yesterday would have just died if she'd been exposed to the thoughts Kate was having right about now.

Bod himself probably would have died at her thoughts but, unlike the version of her from yesterday, he'd invite her to tell him and take the blush for the pleasurable feelings they'd bring.

If he could, Bod pressed even more heavily against her, one leg in between the two of hers and hands wandering up and down her sides while he kissed her.

Kate made a muffled sound against his mouth, then. Just a little noise of appreciation for being so close. She upped the intensity of the kiss a little, too, making sure he'd know that she liked it all.

It was safe to say she wasn't paying much attention to her feet, at least.

Bod's mind was being affected by some serious fog right about now so it was safe to say their current surroundings were starting to fade a little. He'd blame her, if she asked, because she was the reason he was getting fogged up and slowly carried away.

He actually did stop kissing her just for a brief moment, just to catch his breath and give himself some focus before he leaned right back in, getting right back to where he'd left off.

Kate wasn't really helping with the fog. Wasn't even trying to, no, not with the way she was insisting he stayed close, with one of her hands pressed flat against his upper back and the other curled against the side of his neck while she kept kissing him.

Call it making up for past prudery, and reveling in feeling like herself. Something like that.

She wasn't helping at all and Bod found that he'd preferred she didn't. He could deal with a little fogginess in his mind. It wasn't anything he hadn't felt before and probably wouldn't feel again.

Besides, he had far better things to be focusing on. So, he focused on her hands and her lips and his lips and how she felt pressed against him. Fogginess was just an added bonus.

Fogginess was a nice little extra. Kate's mind wasn't exactly clear anymore, either. Clear enough to know where they were, but not by much.

Enough to know she might want to scale it all back a bit in the near future for fear of going over some limit. But... Not quite yet.

Her mind was probably a little clearer than his. He had an idea of where they were but it was fading quickly and the less he focused, the less clear everything got.

Maybe he was just celebrating the fact that he got to be improperly close to her again without her blushing. He thought it a good reason to be a little unclear.

It was a pretty good reason. And it wasn't like she didn't get some semi-evil joy from making his mind less than clear, whatever the reason.

Still, she made the kiss a little lighter, a little less intense, even if her hands stayed firmly where they were.

Bod followed suit even if he found it difficult to do. She eased things up, he followed slowly but he did follow. And he didn't move away from her either. There wasn't a reason to do that, after all.

No reason. None at all. "Not ruined," she mumbled, now that she could.

"It's definitely not," he agreed, taking a few slow breaths to get some control back. "Everything's just fine right now."

"Told you." She pressed a random, light kiss on one corner of his mouth. "Just a minor thing. We bounced back."

"Mmm hmm," he agreed, settling his hands back on her waist and smiling a bit. "I don't know how I can follow that up."

"Well, there are things..." She smirked a bit. "But maybe that's enough of that kinda thing for now."

"Maybe." Bod wasn't actually so sure but that was probably the lingering effects of being so close and having just made out with her. "If you give me a moment or two, I might even think of something else besides those other things."
