As the sun started to set, the lights officially came on at the new community center! The building was now complete, its walls gleaming and solid in the waning light. As people began to arrive, they would notice decorations lining the tiled and bright corridors, leading them towards the large auditorium where the dance was being held.

Once inside the auditorium, there were more decorations. Streamers in the colors of summer hung from the rafters and painted the walls. There were fresh flowers in every corner and on every table, bringing fragrance and festiveness to the room. The lights were low in the auditorium, dimmed to provide both mood and setting to this party in the evening.

There were several long tables stocked full with foods of all kinds and there was even a bar with an expert bartender who'd be happy to serve you. Tips were welcome but not mandatory. Large speakers hung in the corners of the room, installed to provide the latest and greatest sound system to the new building.

Everything was completed, everything was ready so it was time to enjoy yourselves!

"No, I don't think I'll be doing that," she told him cheerfully. "I still have stuff to say. And I really don't believe you don't want to listen to me talk some more, about how you could learn to make me go insane with lust so that when you finally do let me come I'll almost black out."

Oh, her smile was too sweet for this, now.

"I mean, you can't possibly expect me to believe you don't want to think about what that would feel like. Or look like. Or sound like."

He was going to end up blushing and maybe coughing and getting dizzy enough that she'd have to hold him up. He was trying really hard to not blush but it wasn't working. He could already feel his cheeks getting hotter.

"Would you like something to drink?" Bod asked, trying to find another loophole to slip away, blush somewhere else and come back. "Perhaps I should do that."

"No," Kate said, giving his hand a squeeze that suggested she wasn't going to let him wander off. "No, thank you."

She felt almost cruel for putting him through this. The key word being almost. It wasn't her fault that he insisted on being stubborn about not blushing, after all.

"Or, you know, I could tie you up," she continued conversationally. "And see how long I can tease you without actually touching your junk before you'll beg me to do it."

"That's...completely not fair," he choked, unable to hold that blush back any longer. He closed his eyes and tried to get it to go away quick but it was there, bright red and making his skin feel hot to the touch.

"Who cares about fair?" she asked, snickering, and leaning close to whisper "I win" in his ear before pressing a kiss on his red cheek.

"You didn't win, you cheated," Bod tried, still blushing and turning to press his cheek against hers. "I'd already won so you can't take that away from me."

"I didn't cheat. How was that cheating?" she wondered, getting her other hand on his shoulder again. "And you just thought you'd won."

"I did win," he said, leaning his forehead against hers and trying to recover from all those things she said. "I can't think straight."

"I think that means I won," she decided. "Your persistent delusion that you did is just an effect of your brain being all foggy."

"I won first," he insisted, taking a few deep breaths. "You won second. Perhaps that means it's a draw. A tie."

"Maybe." She was feeling charitable. "I could live with that."

"All right," he said, grateful for that. "So, we've both won. Should we celebrate somehow?"

"Wander back to the cabins and cuddle?" she suggested. "Because seriously, my feet are killing me, and this frigging dress isn't exactly made for sitting. I'm pretty done with this party."

"That sounds like a rather good plan," he said, already stepping back to get them both moving. "I think I've a shirt that you can wear if you'd like to be more comfortable too."

Kate let herself be tugged along, and said, "You are kind of awesome."

About the highest words of praise you could get from her, actually.

"I do try," he said, giving her hand a squeeze and leading them both out of the dance and back towards his cabin for something a little quieter that they couldn't really do at the dance.

The date had been a complete success.
