Three Minute Dates!- Caritas- Saturday before 8:15 pm

Love was in the air! Well, not really. That was later. But metaphorically, love, air, etc!

Caritas was decked out for Valentine's Day, with bunches of heart-shaped balloons in strategic places, copious amounts of pink and red confetti at the tables (a conversation starter!) and heart-shaped string lights above the bar and stage. And don't forget the glittery pink banner:

TONIGHT!
THREE MINUTE DATES
IT'S LITERALLY ONLY FIFTEEN MINUTES OF YOUR LIFE

A few minutes before 8:00, Kitty took the stage. She was probably covered in glitter now. "Hello, everybody, and welcome to Three Minute Dates! If you've never done this before, the rules are simple. At 8:00 on the dot, we'll call your name along with one other person's. You'll get to know each other as well as you can in three minutes, and then the gong will sound and you'll get another name to meet. You'll do that for five rounds, and then if there's anyone you want to talk to more, you can meet up at the bar. Good luck, everybody!"

[Hold for OCD! OCD is up! Your regular bar post will go up sometime Saturday for post-dates play!

Well, this was bound to be entertaining, so Ghanima took her seat for her second date with a smile.

"Ah, Ghanima!" Sidon met that smile with a big, toothy one of his own and a hearty laugh, as he pulled out the chair that would be comically small but surprisingly strong for him to sit in. "Hello! How are you on this wonderful evening, and how have you been? Anything exciting to just dive right into, since, as I'm sure you well know, our time is limited!"

And he talked a lot, so it filled up pretty quickly!

"How have you been, Sidon?" she asked, delighted as always by her former student. "Are you enjoying teaching?"

"Oh, it has been fantastic," Sidon gushed, "truly! I can see why so many people enjoy it! I have been sticking mostly with teaching the students about my homeland of Hyrule, which always gives me such a great depth of knowledge, and the students do seem quite interested! And it only seems fair, when I have learned so much about this world; sort of like...paying it forward. Although I did teach some arts and crafts classes in the summer last time, and that was rather magnificent, I would be very interested in doing something like that again!

"But I'm afraid," he added, with a curious sort of tilt of his head, "that I haven't been seeing your own name crop up on the faculty list much lately. Have you been taking a bit of a break from it to have a little breather, or have you been quite preoccupied with other things?"

"A little bit of both, I'm afraid," Ghanima sighed. "Politics are...delicate. At home. And while Leto does the bulk of the ruling as Emperor, I am still Empress, and I have been needed more than usual recently."

"Besides, my niece is growing up, and I don't want Leto to miss his daughter's childhood simply because of my distaste for my role. Taking on extra responsibilities for a year is a small price to pay for his family to get that time." She smiled softly. "He deserves all the time with them that I can possibly provide."

Sidon had a soft smile in response to that, and a light, gentle, agreeing nod. "Time spent with siblings is time that should never be taken for granted," he said softly, in a clear contrast to his usual boisterous manner, though there was nothing small about the feelings fueling it. "And I," in fact, he added a chuckle here, as to not let things get too weighted down with his feelings on these particular topics, "have the benefit of still having the freedom my princehood allows. I know one day, I'll have to take up the mantle of my father, but, hopefully, I still have a good long time before that responsibility is passed down to me. So I'm glad that I can enjoy my time here while I can, because I know very well the duty that lies before me."

Plus, with his next growth spurt, there was a good chance that he might be too big to logically maneuver around the island very well. It was already getting difficult, at his current height.

Almost to emphasize the narrative at that moment, the chair beneath him groaned a little bit in complaint.

"Hopefully that duty has a high ceiling," she teased gently. "If only for your own sake."

"I understand that competing pull of duty and freedom, especially when still in your prince -- or princess -- era. Do you have a phone, Sidon? I would give you my personal number, if you'd like it. For an understanding ear."

"Oh, believe me," Sidon said with a chuckle, "if there's one thing we Zora understand, it's that the royal chamber must be vast indeed. And I most certainly do have a phone, and I would be honored, Ghanima, to have an exchange of those numbers. I'm realizing now that you and I may actually have quite a good deal we could relate to, and it never hurts to have an understanding ear close at hand."
