Valentine's Dance; Town Hall; Friday Evening [8 pm - 10 pm]

Arrivals to town hall would notice that the Student Council took a darker approach to the decorations this year. The colors of the streamers, balloons and table cloths were in shades of dark red and black. Instead of cut outs of hearts and pictures of cupid, there were broken mirrors hanging on the walls, open umbrellas scattered about the room, fake cobwebs on the wall and glittery cut outs of the number "13" hung everywhere.

You even had to walk under a huge ladder in order to get into the dance.

Sure, they were tempting fate by having a Friday the 13th themed dance but this was Fandom. What's the worst that could happen?

"Last dance I wore Jedi formal robes, but I wanted to be a little different tonight," Ben said, yanking at his tie again. "I'm regretting that decision."

Leto couldn't help smiling. "Sometimes it's hard to tell a bad decision from a good one without trying. Have you been practising in the salle recently?"

Ben nodded. "I ran into Prince Arthur the other day," he said, careful to remember titles.

"I'm not surprised." Leto sipped the punch. "Did you show him the lightsaber?"

"I did," Ben replied. "He was interested. For him, I mean."

Leto was unable to hold back a laugh. "I see," he said. "Also, I've given some thought to what you asked me when we met in the Salle."

Ben tried to look extremely competent and not-likely-to-cut-limbs-off-able. "Oh?"

"If you want to learn I will teach you," he said, "But only with one or two blades and we will see how it goes." Leto dearly hoped he could control this well enough for Ben not to get hurt.

Dancing around in a little circle would be completely undignified, so Ben decided against doing that. "That sounds like a good idea," he said instead. "Thank you."

"So, I will see you in the salle ~~at some time handwavily decided later~~?" This might be quite fun.

Ben nodded, bouncing just a little bit on his toes. "That sounds really, really good."

"I'm glad to hear that," he said. "So, tell me, do you appreciate this music?"

He wrinkled up his nose. "Not really," he confessed. "It's not what I'm used to. It's hard to dance to."

"So I find it too," Leto admitted. "But I have promised my date I will dance with her, so I will try."

"Who's your date?" Ben asked ~~nosily~~ interestedly.

"Alice Liddell," he said. "Do you know her? And I assume you are here with Tahiri?"

"I don't, and I am, and how did you know that?" Ben asked.

"I met her in the salle once," Leto said, "And as she had a weapon similar to yours, we talked, and she mentioned you."

Ben's face lit up. "She did?"

Dork.

The expression on his face was very sweet, and Leto smiled. "She did."

"Good things?" Ben checked.

He had to laugh. It had been the day when everyone spoke the truth, so Tahiri had been quite talkative. "Yes, very much so."

"In that case, they're all true," Ben declared with a grin.

"That's what I thought," Leto grinned.

"I'm exceedingly modest that way," Ben confided. "So what are formal events like where you're from?"
