Homecoming Carnival Part I - The Park - Friday afternoon

A series of tents (in various sizes) and covered walkways had sprung up all over the park by midday. There were lots of open spaces, but one could easily get to any part of the carnival without venturing out into the sunlight. Only some of the seating and the big rides - the Ferris wheel, swings, and merry-go-round sat out in the open.

The sounds and smells reached all inhabited parts of the island and it was hard to miss all of the bright colors.

The Homecoming Carnival is open to all residents of Fandom. Weather modding says that any showers predicted for today will miss the island completely. It is a lovely fall day, if a bit warm. This is post one of two and has the concessions, seating, games, rides, and the mud pit which are all free to mod. The second post is here. OCD is up! Have fun!]]

Any Carnival food you like: corndogs, cotton candy, hot dogs, funnel cakes, deep fried snickers on a stick, etc.

Katara went straight up to the concessions stand and ordered cotton candy, a funnel cake, and lemonade. The girl might be a bit hyper later.

Naomi went over to the concessions and after a few minutes of trying to decide what she wanted to get she ended up choosing a hot dog.

Dean considered himself something of a carnival food expert and saw it as his duty to sample as much of the stuff that was being offered as he could.

There were a good number of picnic tables and benches right near the tent containing all of the food vendors. A lot were out in the sunlight, but there was also a tent attached directly to the concession area that held many more for those that didn't like to eat outside.

Unfortunately, carnival food didn't tend to be very vegan friendly. Still, Mac had managed to get herself an apple and a drink from one of the vendors, and was sat at a free table fiddling with it.

It was times like this, she especially missed having Cally around. Homecoming was so... coupley.

Neil was standing in line to go on the swings. This reminded him of the older rides that his parents had once taken him to and he was grinning with anticipation.

Aeryn hadn't been able to shoot anything in months. In Aeryn time, this was a very bad thing, and even if she wasn't killing anything, it was good to know she still had the ability to aim and hit things.

There are lots of fun-shaped bottles and many, many colors of sand. Funnel the sand into the bottles to make layers and landscapes. Just don't shake the bottle when you're done.
