Josh stepped towards the podium with the envelope in his hand and cleared his throat.

"Okay people?" He blew a sharp whistle into the microphone. "Everyone shut up!"

He looked around. "Thanks. We've got results! From the junior class, junior prince is...." he glanced down at the paper. "Samuel Anders. Junior princess is....Isabel Evans." That name he knew, so he smiled.

"And your prom king and queen....Jack Harkness and Alanna Trebond!"

Josh's grin split his face. "Congratulations to all of you!"

Peter whistled at Isabel's name.

He didn't even have to stuff the ballot box like he promised Isabel that he would.

Annette clapped and whistled; all four were her friends and she was happy for all of them. "WhoooHooo!"

Halfway toward the punch bowl again, Anders stopped and stared up at the podium, wide-eyed.

He was pretty sure he'd been hallucinating his own name, and he hadn't even had the new-and-improved punch yet.

"Go big sis!" he yelled instead.

Jack started laughing as soon as he heard who his Queen was, hard enough he had to lean on the wall for support.

Josh was holding up the crowns for the prince and king (http://www.stumpsprom.com/catalog.cfm?pgp=P0210A) and princess and queen (http://www.tiaratown.com/r22.htm). "Come on up and get your swag," he called.

As soon as the court had been crowned, DJ Chuck began playing "I Will Always Love You." Josh made a face. "Not my fault. Go dance anyway."

Aly almost fell over laughing at the King and Queen announcement. Almost. And then she cheered for her mother and the person who was totally not her father.
