The Beach, Monday afternoon

After classes were over (or roughly, it wasn't like he kept track like some kind of creeper), he put on his favorite Hawaiian shirt from the Shenanigans--the Hot Dog Bigfoots--and headed down to the beach.

In a little while, there were four fires roaring merrily: three on different grills with a variety of meats, one sequestered just for pork products, and one for vegetarian options. Steve'd even sourced some fresh ahi again and was feeling particularly pleased with himself about that.

The fourth fire was a cute little bonfire with neatly stacked rejected Shenanigan shirts placed a safe distance from it, along with buckets of water and sand for fire safety (and because McGarrett had 100 percent been a Boy Scout).

There were coolers of drinks including one of beer with a sign--"If you are from the HS and take a beer at a cop party, you're dumber than we thought and are v sad for you"--as the only disincentive.

Come on down, Fandom! Say goodbye to the summer. Eat food, drink beer, get rid of polyblend if that's your thing...

Diego was not in a Hawaiian shirt. He owned one, yes, but it was hidden in the depths of his closet, not to be seen unless it was a very special occasion. Labor Day didn't count.

So he was here in all black, but at least he was wearing a tank top instead of long sleeves. No need to pass out from the heat just to look cool.

Look, she was still figuring out the whole magically changing the armor thing, so Jane was still in the same very obviously Thor themed armor. But she was there for a party nonetheless!

And oh, she found herself very glad to have missed out on some of those shirts there.

After his clinic shift had ended, Stark had gone back to his apartment to change into one of the shirts he had picked out the week he'd been in charge of shenanigans and then headed to the beach.

This was Annie's first federal holiday in recent memory where she wasn't being asked to make a statement or do a photo op or host an event, and as with so many things in the last month or so, it was simultaneously kind of odd and freeing.

Tell you what, though, it was much nicer to hang out here with a beer and in a sundress, rather than taking shallow breaths for several hours in a uniform while not drinking, that was for damn sure.

It wasn't quite Hawaiian print, nor was it a repeat of the shenanigan shirts -- all of which Irene had long turned into cleaning rags or otherwise disposed of on her own time -- but today was something of a last call for summer fashions and Irene was more than pleased to turn up to another picnic-y sort of thing in a pretty dress.

She might even have a beer, eventually. No one was counting chickens, but maybe.

Neither of the shirts Watts had acquired via the shenanigans were Hawaiian shirts, just regular t-shirts. And he was not burning either of them, thank you.

He had, however, decided to wear one of them, specifically, the one with the bucket full of water balloons on it.

Did it look a little odd with his regular trousers? Yes, but he absolutely was not wearing those denim cut-offs that had mysteriously appeared in his laundry anywhere outside the boundaries of his own apartment.

During a slow period at the restaurant, Raiden figured he'd swing by the beach party and bring them some pizzas! And once he got to the beach and realized there seemed to be some sort of theme he'd missed the memo on, he took off his t-shirt as quickly as possible, then plonked his hat back on his head. There. That was better, right?

If there was a party on the beach, of course Sidon would be there! Sans Hawaiian shirt, but that was rather par for the course, and he was certainly making up for it with frequent praise of how spectacular and wonderful it all was.

He could even go out and snag up some more fresh fish for the grill, should it be necessary!

Kitty had her Sinkin' and Drinkin' shirt on and you know what, she looked good in it. And of course she was going to need a beer to go with it. She was on theme.

Look, Summer had tried to give Apu the day off today, all things considered, and he straight up refused. He also practically shoved her put the door when she threw around the idea of stopping by at the party.

Which meant she was now a little worried about what she might be going back to at the store, but, for now, she was just here and trying not to think about that.

Jaina had a few hours between her class and her portal, so she could stop in. She was not wearing a shenanigans shirt though, because she didn't live here and had been kind of busy the last week.

Well, it wasn't a Hawaiian shirt, but switching his usual pink haori with a topical kimono and his usual sake for a beer showed that Shunsui was clearly doing his best to embody the spirit of the little shindig.

He was had sake, of course, but it was more a bonus than anything else today.

Lucifer swaggered in fashionably late in a suit with the top buttons of his shirt undone. He grinned at the people present, and then immediately made a beeline for the drinks.
