Come As You Were Dance, Community Center, Saturday Evening

Originally, this was going to be a much smaller event, but then Fandom had to be Fandom and Portalocity had to be Portalocity, and now Zoe was wondering if there would be enough food for everyone or if she'd have to get things from the local restaurants.

For the moment though, everything was set up nicely. There were tables and chairs set up with blue and gold tablecloths, each covered with glitter from years of use. There were balloons, streamers, and other slightly tasteful decorations, also covered in glitter from years of being stored with things that were also covered in glitter. Don't worry, no one had died from a glitter overdose yet.

Once the food was set out and the (non-tainted) punch was ready, it seemed like things were as good to go as they'd ever be. If things got too crowded, hopefully a fire marshal wasn't among the folks who had come back to town.

Kate hadn't run into anyone yet! She'd had work earlier in the day, so the dance was the first thing she made it onto the island for. And so here she was, in a spiffy Corgi dress and a great big smile on her face.

All in all, she cut a much happier and healthier figure than she had six years ago when she'd first traveled to Fandom.

It seemed so long ago since he had been to a Fandom dance. Leto entered the room, wearing Fremen robes rather than the clothes of an emperor, and looked for familiar faces.

It was amazing how much this little fucking town hadn't changed a goddamn bit. Loki felt like he'd gone back in fucking time or something.

He wandered in, already sad about the fact that he wouldn't be able to drink a damn thing. But, he'd check things out, laugh at people, and see if he saw any familiar faces.

Kitty wasn't new, but she'd been around long enough that there were people she was hoping to see. So she'd shown up, immediately attracted more glitter than she'd ever admit to, and basically just looked around for familiar faces, or any re-meetings that looked interesting to watch.

Buffy (2.0) is here! Ready to mingle in her cute dress that she somehow managed to pack before the Hellmouth went all hole-in-the-ground-y. She would love to catch up with any Meerkats, cheerleaders or other random people who might or might not have known her.

She might also be eyeing the glitter thoughtfully.

Ha, dances. Topher had almost forgotten about dances! He showed up in his sweater vest finest, because that was what Coming As He Was was all about.

He wondered how much of this food he could subtly take with him back to his hotel at the end of the night, and then bring back to his empty apartment on Monday...

Since he didn't arrive by portal, ahem, Bruce hadn't caught up with anyone yet. He also certainly hadn't changed in his old cave, which had some improvements that he hadn't expected to find.

But here he was now, ready to mingle immediately after arriving.

Luke had convinced Percy to go to this thing and while Percy might have bitched and moaned, he was secretly kind of excited. He'd grown up here, met the guy he was still with here.

It'd been a good place but he wasn't about to admit htat.

Oddly enough, Merlin had missed the glitter. Despite how it got everywhere and was impossible to get rid of. It was just something so intrinsically Fandom that made him smile as he looked around.

Dick arrived shortly after Bruce, blah blah blah same cover story although he didn't need a separate journal for his cover.

But still, he was dressed up, his hair was short, and he was ready to see people he probably didn't know.

Mitchell snagged some snacks before he bothered to settle anywhere. He looked faintly amused by the whole thing. It had been some time, all right.

He took a bite of a crisp and contemplated the remains.

Fraser's schedule had miraculously opened up and he couldn't resist making the trip back to the island after so long.

Dressed in his brown uniform, hat under his arm, he greeted everyone with a kind smile.

Back in the day, Rebecca would have worn something skintight and short to something like this and spent the whole night grinding up on someone her dad would have hated. Or someone who reminded her of her dad. Something along those lines. She didn't like to dwell on it.

She was prepared to mingle with anyone she knew or who looked interesting, but she was also more than ready to check her emails and look bored until such time as she felt someone was worth her attention.

Jeff hadn't planned on being here. At all.

Jeff had planned on spending the rest of the forseeable future in his hermit shack, watching his beard grow.

So when Jeff appeared most randomly in the center of a party with his long beard and his Hawaiian print shorts and shirt and his less than ideal sunburn, well, he may have just seized up in shock.

He'd jar loose eventually.

Likely to have a meltdown.

She hadn't been sure she'd be able to make the reunion, but she'd booked a room just in case. And now that she was here, she just wondered whom she might run into. She hadn't been the best at keeping up with others, though there were a few obviously.

Jaina's husband came home and then she left to be here for the weekend, which sounded about their speed. This seemed like it was going to be more interesting than your average homecoming, though, so she was looking pretty glad to be here, if only for the potential train wreck factor.

A dance at Fandom. How could she pass up one last chance to come see the old place. Peyton was here in her favorite red dress, because really, if you were going to come to a reunion you ought to wear something that you knew you looked good in.

She grabbed a drink and wandered about looking for anyone she might still know.

Hannibal was unlikely to know anybody here he didn't see normally, but Jono might, and Hannibal was definitely curious, so he'd come out as well. He was dressed in a perfectly adequate burgundy suit, because apparently he wasn't entirely immune to Jono's puppy-dog eyes.

Soooo, Buffy didn't know who would be here, she hadn't planned on coming, hadn't known there was a thing to come to, and she hadn't really dressed for the occasion. It was like one of her high school nightmares come to life.

But not like that time her high school nightmares actually came to life.

She was here more out of a lack of anything to do, really, but hey, she was here. And hopefully nothing would invade during it, as per usual.

Sparkle wasn't completely feeling back up to 100% today, considering the week he'd had, but he was certainly feeling antsy enough to make an appearance. He figured he had nothing to lose by showing up, after all. Getting out and around and maybe meeting people or trying to fill up on punch that would get spiked eventually seemed like a good distraction from... stuff.

So, here he was, dressed fairly decently for a guy who was living out of a suitcase, and trying, if nothing else, to fall into the swing of the music. Or at least get lost in the crowd. Which might be fairly easy to do, if people were looking for his usual raccoon-eyed look and spiked hair.

Sparkle had high aspirations of making it through the night without a swat to the back of the head, at least.

It hadn't been that long since Mercy came back, but it seemed like forever. A couple of years of college had made a world of difference to the improvement in her self-esteem that Fandom had started.

She smiled as she looked around, trying to find people she remembered.

Quinn had gotten the invitation, and had said she wasn't going. She'd been here not even half a year before going back to Lawndale, and everyone was weird. Why would she go back?

Then there'd been a portal and she ended up here anyway. After being mad for a little while, she realized that was at least one day without a kid following her around anywhere, so dammit, she was going to be social.

Everyone still looked weird.
