Friday Evening: Town Hall: Homecoming (8pm - 10pm)

The first thing that might be noticed when students walked into the Town Hall was the towering stone troll statues that had been dragged in to grace the corners of the dance floor.  It being Homecoming and a semi-formal dance, the trolls were decked out appropriately in hats, glitter, and togas.  Fairy lights were strung across the ceiling, some twined with streamers and some dripping glitter and confetti across the dance floor. 

The walls were decorated with blown up pictures of significant events at Fandom: Graduations, the school blowing up, the Christmas pageants, plays, carnivals, zombies, all the moments that make Fandom Fandom.  Given a place of honour on the walls were a mock up of an exploding volcano, a massive gremlin in a bow tie, and, of course, the Stickbug flag.

Large lit up snowmen congregated around the punch bowl against a snowy backdrop and across the ballroom near the stage, there was a mural of large dinosaurs reaching up to enjoy a glittery streamer dinner.  The wall of the door though had the biggest picture of all - a painting of the island at night from across the water.

As students dropped off their wraps, they were pointed to vote for Homecoming Court then encouraged to proceed into the ballroom.

"I'm sure we can get your husband to work on that for you," Josh said. "Perhaps a twelve-step program of some kind?" He looked around the room. "We are totally the best looking people that are currently talking to each other."

"He might get offended for some reason." Deadpool shrugged." Very sensitive."

He held up a finger, shushing Josh for a moment. "Just let the people admire the hot for a moment. They may never get this chance again."

Deadpool totally followed suit, doing that weird shoulders hunched, knees bent pose the high fashion girls on ANTM were so fond of.

"How ever will the kids be able to concentrate?"

"I don't know," Josh said, sucking in his cheeks and trying to look pouty at the same time.

"Very nice Blue Steel," Deadpool complimented. Because heterosexuality issues be damned, it was a good job.

Josh laughed and ruined the pose. "Thanks. So...bets on students showing up in the same dress and running out of the room in tears?"

Waving dismissively, Deadpool shook his head. "Nah. I'd go more with the babydaddy drama. Triple snaps and everything."

"Ooooh. How about 'what do you mean when you moved away that meant we were broken up?'" Josh grinned. "There could be hairpulling. Or punch throwing!"

Deadpool was a wee bit gleeful over that. "Though I think we're supposed to break it up." A beat. "After a good ten minutes of watching, or course."

"Naturally," Josh said. "We need to make sure everyone's gotten their bets in first."

"That's why we're in charge, of course," Josh said, nodding, then making a face at Aly and Roy dancing. "Is it terrible I want to get out with a ruler and make sure they're the required distance apart?" he muttered.

"Yeah, but then I'm the oversensitive asshole," Josh said. "It didn't bug me that you two danced."

"So! Manly things!" Josh said oh-so-heartily. "Do you think these girls would wear half of these dresses if their fathers were here?"

Deadpool looked around. "Isn't that why they picked them? I know I would have if I had been a girl. And had finished highschool. And not been in bootcamp at that point." A beat. "And if I had a lot of money to spend on the pretty."

Manly. Grrr.
