The first thing that might be noticed when students walked into the Town Hall was the towering stone troll statues that had been dragged in to grace the corners of the dance floor. It being Homecoming and a semi-formal dance, the trolls were decked out appropriately in hats, glitter, and togas. Fairy lights were strung across the ceiling, some twined with streamers and some dripping glitter and confetti across the dance floor.

The walls were decorated with blown up pictures of significant events at Fandom: Graduations, the school blowing up, the Christmas pageants, plays, carnivals, zombies, all the moments that make Fandom Fandom. Given a place of honour on the walls were a mock up of an exploding volcano, a massive gremlin in a bow tie, and, of course, the Stickbug flag.

Large lit up snowmen congregated around the punch bowl against a snowy backdrop and across the ballroom near the stage, there was a mural of large dinosaurs reaching up to enjoy a glittery streamer dinner. The wall of the door though had the biggest picture of all - a painting of the island at night from across the water.

As students dropped off their wraps, they were pointed to vote for Homecoming Court then encouraged to proceed into the ballroom.

Veronica smirked. "School is good," she said. "I've actually hung out with the you that goes there and we haven't killed each other. Hard to believe, isn't it?"

"Wow, I must be really wussying out in my older years." Dick said. "And here I thought I'd be badass forever."

"Apparently not," Veronica said. "Then again, I never pegged you as the college type."

"Yeah, me either." he said. "If you run into my girlfriend tell her the same thing. Maybe she'll get off my back about it."

Veronica bit back a laugh. "Sure thing, Dick."

"Seriously. She's trying to crush my dream of being the male Paris Hilton." Dick said. "Minus the herpes and jail time."

"She won't make sex tapes with you?"

"There are so few chicks willing to make sex tapes anymore." Dick said. "It's sad. What's happening to this country?"

"Gee, Dick, I don't know," Veronica said. "Maybe girls actually value their reputations and don't want Kane streaming video technology to broadcast their exploits to the world?"

"Psh. Who needs a reputation?" Dick said. "Look at your reputation in high school. You did just fine. College girl and everything."

"Probably because mine wasn't true," Veronica pointed out.

"You mean you didn't service the entire swim team?" Dick snapped his fingers. "I've been lied to!"

"Sorry to shatter your world."

"It's totally crumbling around me." he said. "Next thing you know Santa Claus won't be real."

"Or the tooth fairy," Veronica said.

Just then Dick noticed something. "Hey. I haven't been punched yet. Who did you come here with?"

Veronica sucked in a breath. "Piper Halliwell. She's my roommate."

Now somebody with tact would just leave it at that.

"What happened to Cameron?" he asked.

Of course it would be Dick.

"He's at the Air Force Academy," Veronica said.

"That sucks, Ronnie." Dick said. That was about all the sympathy Dick could muster up. He really hated Cameron.

Veronica shrugged. "It's okay because I have the hottest date here," she said.

"I'm sorry, I believe you were just confusing me for your date."

"No, I'm pretty sure that if my options for a date where you or a chimpanzee, I'd have a better time with the chimp."

"Hey, I'd at least show up to the dance with clothes on." Dick said. "Find a chimp willing to do that."

It was a good thing the punch wasn't spiked yet, or Veronica might have tossed her cookies at the unbidden mental image of Dick showing up to the dance nude.

"We're all terribly grateful for that."
