Friday Evening: Town Hall: Homecoming (8pm - 10pm)

The first thing that might be noticed when students walked into the Town Hall was the towering stone troll statues that had been dragged in to grace the corners of the dance floor.  It being Homecoming and a semi-formal dance, the trolls were decked out appropriately in hats, glitter, and togas.  Fairy lights were strung across the ceiling, some twined with streamers and some dripping glitter and confetti across the dance floor.

The walls were decorated with blown up pictures of significant events at Fandom: Graduations, the school blowing up, the Christmas pageants, plays, carnivals, zombies, all the moments that make Fandom Fandom.  Given a place of honour on the walls were a mock up of an exploding volcano, a massive gremlin in a bow tie, and, of course, the Stickbug flag.

Large lit up snowmen congregated around the punch bowl against a snowy backdrop and across the ballroom near the stage, there was a mural of large dinosaurs reaching up to enjoy a glittery streamer dinner.  The wall of the door though had the biggest picture of all - a painting of the island at night from across the water.

As students dropped off their wraps, they were pointed to vote for Homecoming Court then encouraged to proceed into the ballroom.

That ... felt, wonderful and Neil moved a step closer so that he could enjoy the feel of Andrew's warmth along the front of his body.

Smiling, an expression that was both shy yet captivated, Neil hesitated a moment but then leaned in and very lightly pressed his lips to Andrew's mouth.

A moment ago, Andrew was asking himself how this evening could have been any better. Now he knew.

Andrew kissed Neil back, keeping it light at first and then pressing in a touch deeper as they continued to move in time with the music.

Okay now this was definitely the way to dance.

Luckily years of practice helped Neil keep a sense out on the placement of other dancers so that they didn't end up careening into anyone as they kissed and danced.

His arm started to slid around Andrew's waist but paused halfway as if waiting for a chaperone to chide them about keeping proper distance between them.

Andrew was totally following Neil's lead. He hadn't given a second thought to where they were in relation to the other dancers.

Andrew slid his other arm around Neil's waist so that his hands joined together at the small of Neil's back.

He allowed his tongue to run lightly along the other boy's lip.

Fingers tangled with Andrew's as Neil tried to draw the other boy's hand even closer -and if this happened to pull their bodies closer, well...

The tongue on his lip tickled but in a way that also warmed and Neil found himself instinctively trying to capture Andrew's tongue with the soft warmth of his own lips, as if it were the most natural game in the world.

... A game Andrew was very happy to play.

If he had allowed himself to think about it, standing here in the middle of a crowd, kissing the guy he went to bed thinking of every night, Andrew might have freaked out a little. As it was, things felt very much like a dream.

Andrew chuckled lightly and let his tongue explore further.

Andrew's chuckle felt, different, against his mouth and Neil sort of grinned, an act that allowed the other boy's tongue to slip past his lips, which was a whole new level of sensations.

Sensations and thoughts that were very impromper for a public dance floor!

Still, Neil couldn't even bring himself to think about stopping the other boy's exploration, it felt too good and too right, so instead, he pulled him a bit closer and tried out a shy flick of his own tongue against Andrew's.

If it hadn't been for Neil keeping up the motions of dancing, Andrew would have stopped dead in the floor and just made out with the boy in his arms.

Andrew's kissing went from tentative and playful to passionate. He might have even allowed himself to moan oh so lightly.

There was a definite reaction to that moan that came straight from the hormones and threatned to override every last lick of common sense Neil liked to claim as his own.

It was that rush alone that caused him to catch his breath, inadvertantly stealing Andrew's oxygen and he paused, lips still pressed lightly to the other boy's mouth.

"Uh," Yes that was just brilliant now wasn't it?

Neil didn't want to say they should stop because the last thing 99.9% of his body wanted to do just then was stop but there was that .001% that was waving a big ole 'You're in public dumbass' flag.

Andrew sensed Neil's moment of hesitancy and was instantly brought back down to reality himself. And that would be Andrew stepping firmly on Neil's toes.

"Oh, god. Sorry," he blurted out.

"Ow!" Neil gave a small yip, leaning down to rub at his leg, as if that could somehow reach his toes.

Still, it allowed him to look up at Andrew and before the younger boy could bolt off down the mental path Neil had an inkling he was about to head down, he grinned.

"No, no...really. Can, I mean ... could we try that again, somewhere quieter?"

Like, my room?

Oh hell yes, please.

Andrew snickered. "All you have to do is ask," he replied. "And you really don't even need to do that."

Re: First Set

[identity profile] iftheseshadows.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, it's considered polite to at least ask," Neil responded with a grin and a wink.

Re: First Set

[identity profile] wannabe-pan.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Andrew darted in to land a short kiss on Neil's cheek. "And I'm sorry about your toes," he said. "I'll totally make it up to you... later."

Re: First Set

[identity profile] iftheseshadows.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Reaching up to lightly touch Andrew's cheek with his fingertip, Neil's grin was both boyishly playing and a hint rakish.

"I'll hold you to that," he promised, dropping his hand to rest on his date's shoulder.

"So ... last dance is mine?"

Re: First Set

[identity profile] wannabe-pan.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
"First dance, last dance, and any dance in between," Andrew responded, retuning Neil's grin.

So far, toe stomping and all, this night was pretty darn perfect.

Now it was Neil's turn to lean in and kiss Andrew's cheek.

"I'll try not to be too greedy," he said, since he knew Andrew had a lot of friends who would probably want dances as well.
