Friday Evening: Town Hall: Homecoming (8pm - 10pm)

The first thing that might be noticed when students walked into the Town Hall was the towering stone troll statues that had been dragged in to grace the corners of the dance floor.  It being Homecoming and a semi-formal dance, the trolls were decked out appropriately in hats, glitter, and togas.  Fairy lights were strung across the ceiling, some twined with streamers and some dripping glitter and confetti across the dance floor.

The walls were decorated with blown up pictures of significant events at Fandom: Graduations, the school blowing up, the Christmas pageants, plays, carnivals, zombies, all the moments that make Fandom Fandom.  Given a place of honour on the walls were a mock up of an exploding volcano, a massive gremlin in a bow tie, and, of course, the Stickbug flag.

Large lit up snowmen congregated around the punch bowl against a snowy backdrop and across the ballroom near the stage, there was a mural of large dinosaurs reaching up to enjoy a glittery streamer dinner.  The wall of the door though had the biggest picture of all - a painting of the island at night from across the water.

As students dropped off their wraps, they were pointed to vote for Homecoming Court then encouraged to proceed into the ballroom.

[OOC:  Chaperones and Security please ping in as soon as possible.  The second post will be going up in about five hours (or when browsers start to break) but this post is very SP friendly.  PLEASE wait for the OCD is UP and POST IS OPEN]

It had been a long day and he was more relaxed now, in a dark corner in a noisy hall than he had been all day. So, when he nearly felt her touch, could almost imagine it, his eyes almost slipped closed all the way and he let out a quiet breath but was otherwise still.

...Perfect. This was nice; this was different. Adah was so accoustomed to having to be the one reacting to everything, to be the one to be at the will of other people that she got an incredible jolt of excitement at watching the Eel react to her, instead of vice versa, wondering if that small breath was caused by that same thing that made it difficult for her to breath when they did their hand holding in the library, the way she felt when he leaned in and graced her hand with the barest hint of a kiss. And maybe it was the shadow of the corner, or the lights and the loud music effecting her brain, shortwaving it past her better judgment, but his eyes were closed and if she moved carefully enough, he just might not even realize it until the moment was there if she leaned in, leaned up...Might not even notice, since his attention was probably on her hand threatening to brush against his hair...Might not even notice if she tried to lean in, closing her eyes, with slightly parted lips, not brushing them against his but bringing that almost to that point, phantom kiss, the feel of a breath, a convenient distance to suddenly get an 'attack of nerves' if she started to feel like it was a mistake...

She was right; he'd been waiting, was waiting for that brush of a finger against his hairline, that barest touch that he'd probably be feeling for weeks so he wasn't paying attention to her other movements.

Another quiet breath, anticipation or something else and his fingers twitched, almost reaching out towards her but he held himself still and just sighed again.

He could feel her near, feel something and he wanted her to stay near so he held himself, parted his own lips and kept his eyes mostly closed. He probably couldn't have opened them even if he tried.

The Eel was being so still and yet, at the same time, so responsive, she could just feel it in his soft breaths, see it as she blinked her eyes open for a moment to see that his were mostly lidded. Her fingers moved slightly by his hairline and she drew in a breath of hesitation, of thought. She had regretted that she hadn't ended up kissing him like she was apparently plotting to do in that dream of hers; perhaps...she could do it now. She was hesitant, though, uncertain. She wasn't the type of person to kiss other people; she wasn't the type of person who ever would get to a point to have someone who'd let her kiss her. There was still that part of her that would forever think of Rachel this night and the scandalized, envious gasps from her sister over the audacity of the bold, weird sister, kissing me in the corner of the gym on homecoming. Well, town hall, but it was the idea of it, really, as it would have been the gym back in Bethlehem.

Besides, part of her just simply wanted it. They weren't in the library; she wasn't quite herself, he wasn't quite his, in these strange costumes, and they couldn't just hold hands forever, could they?

Threatening to nearly fall into him for her body's realization that she might lose her balance soon, she moved herself just that small bit closer, to close her lips against his, brushing them together, and softly breathing into his breaths.

The word that immediately fell into his mind was soft. That word was quickly wiped away by just the feeling, just the sensation and that was what he concentrated on.

He moved his own lips against hers slightly, just to brush back against hers so that she knew he liked it, wanted it, was responding. He could still feel her close, wanted her to stay that way.

That awful, wonderful, dizzying swimming feeling was filling Adah's head again, and there was a sharp slip of her balance, her body sagging slightly to her heavy, dead right side. It pulled her sharply away from him, stumbling to keep from falling, and her eyes closed tightly with a frustrated sound. Her body had terrible timing, and her face was filling with an apologetic red. She drew a bit further away, slumping on the wall for support, although part of her just wanted to sink down to the floor in an embarrassed cocoon. It was perfect. She realized that that was probably why her body did that.

"It's okay," he said, smiling a little as he stepped closer again. "It's okay."

He reached over, brushed a finger across that blush before dropping his voice and saying, "That was something I'm never going to forget. That was really amazing."

Well, if it was okay, then she had nothing to worry about, right? The Eel, the repeatative fool he was, had even said it twice. Her eyes closed against the brush of a finger against her cheek, moving a bit closer to it before her hand drifted up so that her hand could lightly cover his. She smiled lightly, slowly dragging her eyes open to look over at him. She had to lean heavily against the wall, which made her smirk crookedly, and she looked at him with eyes that spoke clearly that she was very glad he thought so.

He stepped closer without moving his hand (because he liked that feeling) and leaned against the wall, mirroring her position and nearly forgetting about the mess of people moving around them.

Lee smiled and said, "Keep smiling. Making me forget where I am."
