The first thing that might be noticed when students walked into the Town Hall was the towering stone troll statues that had been dragged in to grace the corners of the dance floor. It being Homecoming and a semi-formal dance, the trolls were decked out appropriately in hats, glitter, and togas. Fairy lights were strung across the ceiling, some twined with streamers and some dripping glitter and confetti across the dance floor.

The walls were decorated with blown up pictures of significant events at Fandom: Graduations, the school blowing up, the Christmas pageants, plays, carnivals, zombies, all the moments that make Fandom Fandom. Given a place of honour on the walls were a mock up of an exploding volcano, a massive gremlin in a bow tie, and, of course, the Stickbug flag.

Large lit up snowmen congregated around the punch bowl against a snowy backdrop and across the ballroom near the stage, there was a mural of large dinosaurs reaching up to enjoy a glittery streamer dinner. The wall of the door though had the biggest picture of all - a painting of the island at night from across the water.

As students dropped off their wraps, they were pointed to vote for Homecoming Court then encouraged to proceed into the ballroom.

Meg and Dean arrived to the dance together. Needless to say Meg was kind of weirded out by the decorations.

"Do I even want to know about the trolls?" she asked him.

"Probably not," Dean conceded. "Though they weren't so tough if you had some iron."

"I'm so glad I asked my roommate to teach me how to fight." she said. "God knows what's going to attack while I'm here."

"Don't worry," Dean told her, patting her hand where it rested on his arm. "If anything attacks, I'll protect you. I've been fighting weird things most of my life."

"That's comforting. Really, because I have no experience in weird things whatsoever." she said. "Neptune's completely normal."

"Oh there's probably some weird stuff happening in the shadows," Dean judged. "It's just that it's not the kind of thing you notice until it happens to you. Then you can't stop noticing it."

"Now I'm going to be looking underneath my bed and in my closet next time I go home." she said.

"If you want, I can always come by and check it out for you."

"I would like that." she said, giggling. "Between you and me, I'm kind of a chicken."

"That just means you have the good sense to be scared of things that can hurt you," Dean said. "You'd be surprised at how many people don't."

"I like that way of thinking." Meg said. "It makes me look so much better."

"Trust me, sweetheart," Dean teased. "You look great."

"That's not what I meant." she said, laughing. "But thank you."

"Just the truth," Dean said. "And truthfully, more people should be afraid of this stuff. Or, be more willing to admit they're afraid. It would stop them from doing stupid things to prove they're not."

"Yeah, I see that all the time too." she said. "Not with like, demons and stuff of course. More like a motorcycle gang."

Dean nodded. "Same general principal, just tends to be more leather involved with motorcycle gangs."

"Demons not into the leather, huh?" Meg asked. "That's a relief."

"And they tend to be stinky. All the sulfur smell, you know. Although I suppose most motorcycle gangs aren't really big on hygiene either..."

"Definitely not. Leather doesn't exactly allow the skin to breathe." Meg joked.

"Still, when worn properly, a little leather can be kinda hot," Dean mused.

"If I look in your closet am I going to find a pair of leather pants?" Meg asked.

"You might," Dean allowed. He hadn't got around to giving them back to Alec before he left.

"Well then I agree. Leather can be kinda hot." she teased.

"I can show them to you sometime if you want," Dean offered.

"That's an offer I might have to take you up on." she said. She was picturing clearly in her mind already though. Thank god for leather.
