Friday Evening: Town Hall: Homecoming (8pm - 10pm)

The first thing that might be noticed when students walked into the Town Hall was the towering stone troll statues that had been dragged in to grace the corners of the dance floor.  It being Homecoming and a semi-formal dance, the trolls were decked out appropriately in hats, glitter, and togas.  Fairy lights were strung across the ceiling, some twined with streamers and some dripping glitter and confetti across the dance floor.

The walls were decorated with blown up pictures of significant events at Fandom: Graduations, the school blowing up, the Christmas pageants, plays, carnivals, zombies, all the moments that make Fandom Fandom.  Given a place of honour on the walls were a mock up of an exploding volcano, a massive gremlin in a bow tie, and, of course, the Stickbug flag.

Large lit up snowmen congregated around the punch bowl against a snowy backdrop and across the ballroom near the stage, there was a mural of large dinosaurs reaching up to enjoy a glittery streamer dinner.  The wall of the door though had the biggest picture of all - a painting of the island at night from across the water.

As students dropped off their wraps, they were pointed to vote for Homecoming Court then encouraged to proceed into the ballroom.

John was surprised she'd held back. "And now I get to stomp your feet."

Molly looked at him in shock. "Nu uh!"

"I guess I'm not that bad a dancer," he said. "But I thought I'd give fair warning just in case."

Molly laughed. "I thought you were telling me your plan."

John laughed at her, "I'm not that stupid. I've heard tell of your abilities."

Molly titled her head at him. "I've moved furniture for you. You've seen my abilities," she said before lifting her chin pugnaciously. "Not a very impressive use of them, but it wasn't something many people could do."

"That's right," he smiled. "Without you, there would be no sofa in my room. I am forever in your debt. Speaking of sofas, how was your memory last weekend?"

Molly laughed. "That was an interesting segue," she said, wondering if it was a story she could get out of him.

"I thought I was a princess last weekend until Karal told me otherwise. What about you? Did you think you were a sofa?"

"I'm fond of that sofa," he smirked.

"A princess? Now that would've been fun to see," he remarked. "Of course, at the time, I was busy trying to pretend I had my memory and nothing was wrong."

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Molly noted the smirk. "Is there anyone else who is fond of that sofa?" she asked nosily.

"Huh. I never even thought of pretending. Of course, Karal had his memory so he would have known I was faking. Why did you pretend anyway?"

He found himself able to answer both questions with one reply. "Well...I woke up on the sofa with Jaina, and it seemed rude to not remember who she was or why she was there."

Quietly, so that only John could hear, Molly started to sing, "John and Jaina sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G..."

John glared at her, "Fine, I guess I won't tell you about who I ran into at the bar when I was sans memory."

Molly stopped singing instantly. "Nooo! Tell!" she pleaded. "Please? I'll be good!"

She had no clue who he would have run into, but knowing John, it would be amusing.

"I don't know that you deserve to hear about who I thought I was dating..." he smirked. It was a good story.

"Awww, pleeeease?" she wheedled. "I totally could have started teasing you way before now. Please tell. Pleeease?"

Re: Third Set

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 09:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"Okay, okay," he grinned. "Well, Lana thought I was the other me and I didn't know any better and believed her that we were dating."

Re: Third Set

"Ohmygosh!" Molly said, very surprised. "How did she not know? She's met you before. And if she remembered him, she must have had her memory."

Re: Third Set

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
"She was pretty drunk," John said. "I was confused because, as I should've, I'd assumed I was with Jaina."

Re: Third Set

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Molly nodded. "Poor Lana. I heard Jim left. That must have been after," she said. "What did you do? You didn't..." she couldn't finish and gave a little shake of her head as she looked up at him, waiting for his answer.

"No! Oh no! I just talked to her and walked her back to the dorms," John was glad his amnesia-ed self had managed not to do anything stupid.

Re: Third Set

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Molly sighed and gave him a pat on the shoulder. "Good John," she said. "I'm glad I don't have to hit you for being a stupid boy."

Re: Third Set

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, at the time I thought I was a cheating boy, so I'm glad I ended up being neither," he said. "And that was all after the mini golf woman propositioned me."

Re: Third Set

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Molly gave him a look of surprise again. "Wow! Isn't she a little old? She should know better."

"Apparently she has a lot of money," he laughed. "She offered to buy me a plane, too."
