Fandom Post Office, Wednesday (02/20)

Beauty was at the counter today, but deeply immersed in a copy of Candide. If someone could get her attention, she'd be happy to assist them.

[ooc: Super busy catching up on work today, so replies will be slooooow.]

Fandom Post Office, Wednesday (02/13)

Beauty was having One of Those Days.

Which at the moment was manifesting itself in a struggle with the Sorting Machine, which was turning all the mail into full-color campaign advertisements, and had to be coaxed into turning them back. One letter at a time.

So there was a sign on the counter: Please use the Post Box.

[ooc: I am also having One of Those Days, so Beauty is not going to be around for interaction today. Please mod the Post Box.]

Fandom Post Office, Wednesday (02/06)

If Beauty had ever discovered the wonder of the iPod, she'd have been bouncing along behind the counter to some kind of peppy music.

She hadn't, however, so instead she was doing the next best thing -- humming to herself and translating Greek.

Yes, this is Beauty's idea of fun.

[ooc: I have a work project today that may take up a lot of my time and brainpower, so responses from me will probably range from extremely slow to almost nonexistent.]

Fast Eddie's; Friday Evening.

So, there they were. The rescheduling of the date that was actually even confirmed as a date and not just something hanging there in ambiguity. A.J. even held the door open for Beauty as they arrived at Fast Eddie's, although he probably would have done something like that, anyway. "So what do you think?" he asked her as they moved in. "Bowling, video games, or something to eat first?"

[[ clearly, A.J.'s here with the permissively modded da~ate, but the bowling alley's definitely open for all your...bowling alley needs. *nod* ]]

Fandom Post Office, Wednesday (01/30)

The cold was mostly gone, but Beauty was still feeling a little on the tired side, especially after spending the whole day out with Greatheart the day before. So although she had a book open on the counter in front of her, she was mostly leaning with her chin on her hand, staring at a spot on the floor where the light came in the window.

No blonde hair, no guitar, no boobs; A.J. was very glad to say that these were all true. Yes, even the last one. Unfortunately, he could add 'no excuse' to his list, as well, because he somehow didn't think that Yitzhak would be entirely convinced with his excuse on why he wasn't at work on Sunday. However, part of him was also thinking Yitzhak wouldn't care. His special for the day, however, was very reflective of the entire experience:

Today's Special )

Luke's is open.

Fandom Post Office, Wednesday (01/23)

It was time for another batch of letters home, so today Beauty was sitting behind the counter with her stationery and pens, trying to filter out the worst of the Fandom weirdness and still have something to write about.

It was slow going, so she'd be likely to welcome any distractions.

Fandom Post Office, Wednesday (01/16)

Beauty was behind the counter at the post office, reading a book.

The post box was in its corner, doing whatever post boxes do.

Pretty much business as usual.

The Park, 10am Saturday-early afternoon

Yesterday's weather had worried Willow, but according to the weather report Saturday was warmer and so far snow-free.

Willow got to the Park early so she could set up. She cleared a space for dancing, set up music and some food that she'd brought along, then waited for others to show up.

[ooc: OCD a-coming Up! All are welcome. 'tis very informal in nature. And this only takes up a small part of the Park, so plenty of room for others to do Parky things without being crowded.]

Fandom Post Office, Wednesday (01/09)

Beauty spent a little time sweeping up around the post office, just to make sure it stayed neat and appealing to customers, then settled in behind the desk with her book.

Fandom Post Office, Wednesday (01/02)

Ringing in the new year had been a quiet exercise for Beauty, who'd suddenly backed out from going to the party at the last minute (a case of unexpected nerves). Now, as she set herself up behind the counter at the post office with her writing supplies and the beginning of a letter home, she was feeling pensive, thinking about all the strange things that had happened to her in the past year, and wondering what the new one would be bringing.

She wasn't one for making resolutions, but she did promise herself to approach the coming year with an open mind and a sense of adventure.

Fandom Post Office, Wednesday (12/19)

Beauty hadn't grown up with the flashy holiday trappings she was starting to see cropping up, but they were making her feel a little homesick anyway. So while she sat behind the counter, she composed a set of letters home. Maybe she'd ask A.J. if he'd do a quick drawing or something to include.

Fandom Post Office, Wednesday (12/12)

Beauty was surprised to find the post office devoid of golem and cat on her arrival, and spent some time searching around before coming to the conclusion that they really were gone. It was going to take some getting used to, being there entirely alone all day.

Maybe she'd see if Annette would loan out her kitten to keep Beauty company while she worked.

Fandom Post Office, Wednesday (12/05)

The bit of a funk Beauty had slipped into last week was clearing away now, mostly due to the invitation A.J. had made on Sunday. She had her favorite copy of the Iliad with her today, and was reading aloud to Gladys and Tiddles.

Luke's Diner; Sunday [ 12/02 ]

A.J. wasn't exactly in the best of moods after yet another fallout with Annette, so most of his concentration went into his project for the specials board today. Which included filling it entirely with different colored squares of all the same size, spanning from one end to the other.

Luke's is open.

Fandom Post Office, Wednesday (11/28)

Since she had no way of going home for the holiday -- and since her family didn't celebrate this one anyway -- Beauty had spent the long weekend quietly and handwavily in her room or with Greatheart. She felt like she had quite a few things to think about.

Now she greeted Gladys and coaxed Not Tiddles out for some pettings, and then settled in behind the counter with a book, unless of course someone stopped in for postal assistance.

Fandom Post Office, Wednesday (11/21)

Feeling intensely stupid for the confusion and assumptions she had made after meeting an adult A.J. on Monday, and deeply worried about the fact that her roommate had been in the clinic for a frightenly long time, Beauty silently took up her place behind the counter and buried her nose in a book.

Luke's Diner; Sunday [ 11/18 ]

Hey, it was Sunday. He was here in Fandom again, so why not swing by the old dig that added to the long line of counter-jockeying that A.J. would spend his life doing waiting for his works to really pick up? Mosey on down, hop behind the counter and see what's changed in the last couple of decades.

...Which, apparently, wasn't much at all. "Huh," A.J. commented, looking around, and then...

"Oooh, special's board." Delightfully blank and waiting. Time to get to work.

Luke's is open.

Town Hall, Thursday, November 15 -- Morning/Afternoon

Christian was upset when he found out one of the kids had died the day before and was pissed at himself for taking the day off. The island had been through a lot while he'd been here, but one of the kids dying was unacceptable. He was frustrated by his inability to reach anyone outside the island. No ordering more supplies, no consulting with contagious disease experts. If it had only been the adults sick he might have been trying to head for the hills to save his own ass, but he wasn't about to abandon the kids. They had to find a way to stop this. Especially because now a baby was sick.

[ooc: Plz wait for the massive OCD is up! Thursday mornings are a little crazy here, so I will probably be SP until noon or so. Comment notifications are off, so ping me in the OOC thread if you need me.

*pokes mods* Need tags for Harriet Jones and Grace Winchester, please!]

Town Hall - Wednesday Morning

Wilson had gotten a briefing from Troy before coming in today and had already shut down his OMGWTFPlllllaaaggggguuuuueee response in favor of being able to actually function as a doctor.

Slipping a mask over his mouth almost immediately, he grabbed up charts and began to walk through the cots, getting an update on everyone's status. Next up would be making sure the volunteers were organized and that people who were sitting bedside vigil were taking care of themselves and not starting to show symptoms

[ooc: OCDS will be coming presently are up, you may now continue to enjoy your plague.]
