Friday Evening: Town Hall: Homecoming (8pm - 10pm)

The first thing that might be noticed when students walked into the Town Hall was the towering stone troll statues that had been dragged in to grace the corners of the dance floor.  It being Homecoming and a semi-formal dance, the trolls were decked out appropriately in hats, glitter, and togas.  Fairy lights were strung across the ceiling, some twined with streamers and some dripping glitter and confetti across the dance floor. 

The walls were decorated with blown up pictures of significant events at Fandom: Graduations, the school blowing up, the Christmas pageants, plays, carnivals, zombies, all the moments that make Fandom Fandom.  Given a place of honour on the walls were a mock up of an exploding volcano, a massive gremlin in a bow tie, and, of course, the Stickbug flag.

Large lit up snowmen congregated around the punch bowl against a snowy backdrop and across the ballroom near the stage, there was a mural of large dinosaurs reaching up to enjoy a glittery streamer dinner.  The wall of the door though had the biggest picture of all - a painting of the island at night from across the water.

As students dropped off their wraps, they were pointed to vote for Homecoming Court then encouraged to proceed into the ballroom.

"I'd think an extra large ego would take up more space," Aly teased. "So be less likely to give way."

"It's soft and pliable at the edges," he replied, quiet possibly just talking nonsense now.

She chuckled and lifted her hand up to brush the fallen bangs back. "Talking nonsense, now."

Roy smiled softly as he met her eyes, his head tilting slightly into the touch. "You're distracting me," he teased.

She laughed at him then winked. "I'm good at that."

"My ego isn't fooled," he smirked at her.

"Oops, was I supposed to be fooling your ego?" she asked sweetly.

"It stays alert while I'm distracted," he nodded and then squeezed the hand he was holding. "I may still be talking nonsense."

"I don't think there's any 'may' about it," she smirked.

"It's still all your fault," he said casually.

"Your poor ego's issues?" Aly asked, looking amused.

"Yes," he nodded solemnly. "That and the amount of cat hair I found this week when cleaning my apartment."

"Mmm," she looked slightly embarrassed. "Yes, well, at least they were well-taken care of for the weekend?"

He hadn't meant to embarrass her and his hand pressed reassuringly against the small of her back. "Yes, you love those cats."

"Shhh," Aly said, pretending to look around secretively. "Don't let it get out."

"I've kept your secret so far," he pointed out, amused.

"Yes, but I'm reiterating that it is a secret," she pointed out in return.

"In case my memory suddenly got faulty?" he asked her.

"As we know, it's a possibility," she teased.

"Fandom weirdness does not count," Roy replied, trying to tell himself it was good to mention it as he didn't want it to turn into the big pink elephant in the corner of the room that no one discussed.

"Your advancing age then?" Aly asked teasingly.

"Mmmmmm yes," he nodded. "Think you can spare some time tomorrow to check for grey hairs?"

"Quite possibly," she smirked. "Could your vanity stand it if I found some?"
