Friday Evening: Town Hall: Homecoming (8pm - 10pm)

The first thing that might be noticed when students walked into the Town Hall was the towering stone troll statues that had been dragged in to grace the corners of the dance floor.  It being Homecoming and a semi-formal dance, the trolls were decked out appropriately in hats, glitter, and togas.  Fairy lights were strung across the ceiling, some twined with streamers and some dripping glitter and confetti across the dance floor. 

The walls were decorated with blown up pictures of significant events at Fandom: Graduations, the school blowing up, the Christmas pageants, plays, carnivals, zombies, all the moments that make Fandom Fandom.  Given a place of honour on the walls were a mock up of an exploding volcano, a massive gremlin in a bow tie, and, of course, the Stickbug flag.

Large lit up snowmen congregated around the punch bowl against a snowy backdrop and across the ballroom near the stage, there was a mural of large dinosaurs reaching up to enjoy a glittery streamer dinner.  The wall of the door though had the biggest picture of all - a painting of the island at night from across the water.

As students dropped off their wraps, they were pointed to vote for Homecoming Court then encouraged to proceed into the ballroom.

"Do you need to sit down?" he teased back. "We can stop dancing?" Not that he wanted to stop at all.

"I might need my smelling salts," Aly smirked.

"Oh? Is that what this is?" he asked teasingly, his hand shifting to touch the knife he guessed was there.

Aly raised an eyebrow then laughed. "You know, touching a woman's knife without permission is a terrible offense."

Roy smirked. "Really? What are you going to do about it?"

"Probably nothing right now," she told him. "I'll just remember for the future."

"Shame." His hand settled above the knife and he concentrated on the dancing once again.

"I'd think punishment on the dancefloor would be terribly embarrassing," Aly teased, still following easily.

"True," Roy agreed. "My ego might never recover."

"Perhaps that would be a good thing," Aly said thoughtfully, glancing up at him mischievously.

"Are you telling me you don't like my ego?" he questioned, leading her into a sharp turn to make her skirt twirl. "I'm hurt."

She made the most of the turn, swinging her hips to show off the dress. "It is awfully large," she pointed out delicately.

His gaze flicked down for a moment to appreciate. "To be more accommodating," he remarked.

"The size of the ego makes it more accommodating?" Aly asked curiously.

"Of course it does," Roy said as if that spoke for itself.

"I'd think an extra large ego would take up more space," Aly teased. "So be less likely to give way."

"It's soft and pliable at the edges," he replied, quiet possibly just talking nonsense now.

She chuckled and lifted her hand up to brush the fallen bangs back. "Talking nonsense, now."

Roy smiled softly as he met her eyes, his head tilting slightly into the touch. "You're distracting me," he teased.

She laughed at him then winked. "I'm good at that."

"My ego isn't fooled," he smirked at her.

"Oops, was I supposed to be fooling your ego?" she asked sweetly.

"It stays alert while I'm distracted," he nodded and then squeezed the hand he was holding. "I may still be talking nonsense."
