Meerkat reunion, The Park, Sunday afternoon

After seeing so many of the Meerkats at the dance yesterday, Buffy thought it was time for a proper reunion. So she had handwavily texted everyone, and was hoping the ones on the island would be able to make it.

This being Fandom she had now spent the last ten minutes clearing an area around a nice pink tree so it was free of zombie gremlins. It looked like a good place to hold the reunion. The tree seemed friendly, insofar trees could seem friendly. She'd brought blankets to sit on, and had placed them down on the ground, close to the tree. Buffy gave the tree a little pat. "There!" she said. "I hope they all show up. And won't get bitten by gremlins on the way..."

She thought the zombie gremlins were starting to get the point though. They seemed much less interested in her now. She'd brought enough stakes for everybody anyway, so that should be fine.

[OOC: Mainly for the Meerkats, but I suppose if any Stickbugs are around and want to crash the reunion for old times sake...]

Come As You Were Dance, Community Center, Saturday Evening

Originally, this was going to be a much smaller event, but then Fandom had to be Fandom and Portalocity had to be Portalocity, and now Zoe was wondering if there would be enough food for everyone or if she'd have to get things from the local restaurants.

For the moment though, everything was set up nicely. There were tables and chairs set up with blue and gold tablecloths, each covered with glitter from years of use. There were balloons, streamers, and other slightly tasteful decorations, also covered in glitter from years of being stored with things that were also covered in glitter. Don't worry, no one had died from a glitter overdose yet.

Once the food was set out and the (non-tainted) punch was ready, it seemed like things were as good to go as they'd ever be. If things got too crowded, hopefully a fire marshal wasn't among the folks who had come back to town.

JGoB, Saturday morning

Not knowing what to expect from a Fandom weekend, Isabel and Wyatt had left Victoria back in Roswell with her grandparents. Isabel probably should have taken advantage of being child-free and slept in while enjoying early morning snuggles with her husband, but excitement and a craving for baked goods had her up and about early.

Coffee and croissant in hand, she took a seat near the window to watch who was passing by.

It was one of those only in Fandom meetings )

[Pre-played with [livejournal.com profile] candycrushlove, conversation to be continued in the comments, but the post is also open if anyone else wants baked goods or to say hi to the alien]

Warehouse District, early Sunday morning

Since going back to her room at the hotel probably wasn't the best idea after the detention raid, Isabel and some of the others had made there way to one of the safe spots in the warehouse district.  It seemed the best place to lay low for the time being.

Since people still needed food, Isabel made a call to a sympathetic barista at the Perk and slipped out the door.  Thirty minutes and one dead Madri later, she returned with two boxes of coffee and a bag of bagels.  It wasn't much, but it was probably better then anyone that had been in detention had seen in a while.

"Who's hungry?"

[For former detainees & resistance types please]

Caritas- Friday

With everything going down tomorrow, Kitty wasn't spending much time at all up front today. She was much more concerned with anything that might be going on in the back, and really, after hearing radio she felt better being around them than keeping up a front for any minions that showed up tonight. She wasn't sure she could play nice today.

So the place was open, and there was at least one person here crossing her fingers that tomorrow went smoothly.

[Fairly easy day at work, pinging should be pretty consistent from me.]

The Umbridge Arms, Tuesday

Mary was not having a good day. Gunther had gone missing again. He had never really picked a side, but he knew that she was hiding Resistance members in the hotel and never said a word about it. Mary could only hope that he continued to keep his mouth shut if he fell into the hands of Loyalists.

For now, all she could do was remain calm and see what information she could get from the Loyalists who thought that she was their friend. As she pondered who to go to, she started to sing:... )

Of course it had to be another one of those days.

Welcome to the Umbridge Arms!

Caritas- Monday

It was just your nice, normal night at Caritas, the front end of the restaurant serving good ol' American favorites, and some of that British... food, just in case anyone high and mighty showed up. Yep, just your average, ordinary restaurant, with Kitty occasionally at the counter, except when she had to check on inventory in back. It was a nice place of a loyalist to visit.

The secret back room, though, that was where the fun was. Shhh dun tell.

[Some SP from me for the next hour while at work, but feel free to mod Kitty at the other side of Caritas if you want something faster.]

The Beach, early morning

Another night of restless sleep interrupted by bad dreams meant Isabel was up and out the door early for her morning run.  After a long loop around the island, she ended up on the beach, slowly sipping her bottle of water and looking out to sea.

Soon enough she'd have to get to the hotel and get to work, but for now it was time to think of happier times.

[Open of course. Since I never tagged the post, for the record my girl's a white hat at heart.]

Moon Landing Dance, Community Center, Saturday Evening

Notices had gone out to all and sundry, inviting both those who still lived on the island as well as those who'd moved away to come back for a dance at the Fandom Town community center, in celebration of the 43rd (give or take a day) anniversary of the original moon landing, as well as the wonderful summer they were having.

Once people arrived, they'd find the community center's auditorium decorated according to the theme of the evening. Silver streamers hung all around, and a few papier mache moons had been fixed to the ceiling. The lights were dimmed, and there were flowers – most white, but some of them colored silver – on all the tables, bringing the faint scent of summer with them.

And naturally, there were big tables full of food, like at any large Fandom gathering. There was also a bar, though those underage would have to content themselves with sodas and virgin drinks. Maybe they could get over their sorrow over that on the dance floor, showing off their best Moonwalk.

Everything was ready for the people of Fandom to have a good time.

Outback Steakhouse, Sunday Evening

"Caled, Gawain, opposite ends of the table, I don't want to have to tell you again, Betty and Pandora, you, too, no, Betty, I do not care that I am not your father. Katrina, no magic at the table, I don't care if you're on post-Ordeal power levels. Peach, no pretending that you're on Ordeal, and no hitting Katrina because she's younger and already gone through it. Trust me, it'll happen for you, and probably before I'm ready for it.

"Katrina, no magic at the table."

Ronan looked around at his fellow 'parents'. "I give up. I'm leaving them to all of you and running away to Mongolia."

[Specifically for the brood and the associated and sundry parents, but open for all your steakhouse (and Nolan/Halliwell/Parker/Evans/Hercules AU kid) needs! We're all going to be a little bit slow for the next little bit, between homework, Wrestlemania, and GoT, but we are aroooooound.]

The Perk, Sunday Morning

Jack's perfectly peaceful weekend day of errand-running had been interrupted by not one, but two phone calls from Fandom along the lines that he should get to the island now. That the day after prom had decided he didn't need to be on the island to become a parent for a day.

(He was still hoping the call about the triplets had been an early April Fool's prank. Three mini-Emmas, dear God...)

It was Sunday before he could get a portal onto the island, but now here he was. Sipping tea and bracing himself for whatever was to come next.

Jeff, God of Biscuits - Sunday evening

Isabel bravely hung up the phone after receiving the terrible news.

She wouldn't let this upset her.

She wouldn't let this upset her.

Sadly she wasn't that strong and instead burst into tears.

"My wedding is ruined!!!"

[For one specifically but open to anyone who wants to deal with Bridezilla.]

In Fandom Town Down to the Gates of Fandom High, Friday Afternoon

Now firmly under the control of Mr. White, the Auditors were becoming a little... more coordinated. They had found some of their powers failing that morning, which was terrifying, but then Mr. White had given them that look and they had given in to their bodies' apprehensiveness and scurried off.

Now...

"We must learn more," Mr. White crowed loudly. "Most of the humans are in there." He pointed at the school. "That is a fact."

The hundreds of Auditors gathered in front of him nodded meekly.

"So we must study it from the inside," he continued, "This is also a fact."

Another unanimous nodding session.

"Those inhabiting the town are also of interest," he added, "Which is also a fact."

More nodding.

"They have proven hostile so far. Also a fact. That means we can only conclude one thing."

He held up the axe. A good chunk of the Auditors held up their own weapons, mostly because they didn't want to be singled out for another experiment.

"CHARGE!" Mr. White yelled.

The throat protested. Interesting.

Seven hundred Auditors charged through the streets of Fandom.

[[ ocd up! Have at! Note that after this, all of Fandom besides the school and dorms is gone, so be sure to read the OCD. Also, if you need an excuse to get your character out of the affected areas, the Auditors are everywhere and they're going to be very hard to miss. ]]

Emergency Town Meeting, Town Hall, Thursday Afternoon

For as long as Zoe could remember, she'd always had to be the solid one in any given group. When Wash had died, she'd known instantly that she couldn't let her emotions show in front of anyone but the ghost in her quarters. It was Mal's job to fly off the handle, to swear and shoot people, and it was her job to be a rock, and to bring him back to stability.

In Fandom, the situation was very much the same every time something terrible happened. Zoe knew that no matter how bad things got, she had to be strong, because falling apart in front of the students, or even the teachers, just wasn't an option.

Which, she supposed, made Anakin her Mal here, if only because imagining Deadpool in tight pants made Zoe's brain do things it oughtn't.

Cameron was gone. Her family was gone. Only Grace was left, and that was because Zoe wasn't letting her more than an arms length away. Her handwavey radio call for an emergency town hall meeting wasn't just about gathering information and rallying everyone together, although it was certainly damn time for that. Hopefully, it would provide a good head count for who was still left on the island. However many people came, it wouldn't be enough to make Zoe feel better, but maybe it would be a start.

[OCD is up! Have at it!]

The Perk, late Thursday evening

Parker had finally made it to Fandom, after another stop through a war zone, a city where everything was green, and then Milliways, where she had to explain she wasn't an entree.

Coffeeee. And then calling people to tell them she got here. Parker had called already Isabel. Given the squeak on the phone she figured she had about 8 minutes before the other girl turned up.

[open as a late-night coffee shop]

Dite's Decadent Delights, Monday Afternoon

After Dinah's last phone call, the last thing that Karla had felt like doing was going into work. But it was that or stay in her room all day and look at pictures, so several hours after her shift was supposed to have begun, Karla dragged herself into the store.

Only to be confronted by a stack of heavy cardboard boxes, taller than she was. The address on all of the boxes were for a store Karla'd never heard of, but the scrawled note on the inventory sheet said, Had enough trouble getting them over the causeway. They're staying!. Okaaaaay?

Inside the boxes were rows and rows of snow globes. These were definitely not for 'Dite's shop. Rather than anything naughty or even slightly risqué, they featured warm and friendly holiday decorations with such inspiring messages as The Holidays Are a Time for Friends and Family! and Remembering You Fondly This Holiday Season! After her morning--after her week--such cutesy messages of friendship and remembrance hurt.

Karla hadn't realized she was smashing one until it was hurtling through the air and slamming onto the floor of the shop, spraying glass and sparkles and fake snow everywhere. And? It felt good. She slammed another. And then another. And another and another and another still, flinging snow globes until her arm hurt.

This was kind of therapeutic.

Soon, there was a sign in the window: ANGRY AT THE WORLD? OR THE LACK OF IT? COME WORK THROUGH YOUR ISSUES WITH WANTON DESTRUCTION! 3 GLOBES FOR A DOLLAR.
[BEWARE OF BROKEN GLASS. DUH.]

The Perk, Saturday afteroon.

Isabel was at the Perk leaving lots of messages for people. But then a call didn't go through.

The coffee she'd been mainling was going to go untouched for a while.

[Oh so open. In addition to the links, lots of handwavey voicemails were left as well.]

Combined Reserves | Community Center | Wednesday Afternoon

"We know that things have not been very okay lately," Dolf said. There was no better way to start a meeting than with an understatement, right? "People and places have been disappearing and nobody but us seems to remember they existed. And the causeway is being crazy, says the radio."

He wouldn't know. His own universe was still out of reach for him, and he didn't exactly spend a lot of time on the mainland - he still felt self-conscious about his English. "So we thought we should all talk, and come up with ideas." He shot Karla and Wesley an expectant look.

Karla glanced over at him and nodded, stepping forward. "The big problem is, we have no idea what's going on. We can't tell if there's some kind of pattern, if there was some kind of precipitating event, where the vanished things are going--or even if there is a where. Right now, we're dealing with a lot of suppositions and half-guesses. That's one of the reasons we called this meeting today, before people started going home for the holiday."

If anyone was able to leave, that was.

"One of the things we need is more information. Are people vanishing from your world? Who? When? What happens when objects and places vanish? Are there things that are linking the disappeared across multiverses? The more information we have, the better we'll be able to figure out what is going on. And from there, figure out how to reverse it."

"We understand that some of you may have lost people, and it might be difficult to talk about," Wesley made sure to add. "But if you're at all able, it'd be invaluable for us if you could share what you've been experiencing, both here and in your home worlds. And if you know of anything from your home or anywhere else that might be responsible for what's been happening, even if you aren't certain, that could be incredibly useful as well. It's difficult to propose any sort of a solution without an idea of what the cause is."

Hadn't stopped him from all but living in the library over the past week, though.

"So." He sat down in one of the chairs that had been set up in a huge circle. "Would anyone particularly like to start?"

Homecoming Dance | Town Hall | Saturday Evening | Post I

Glitter encrusted moosen stood guard in the entry to the transformed Town Hall, reminding all those in attendance that the night was about all things Canadian. Or things the Student Council had deemed Canadian - plus a whole lot of glitter.

Sparkly red maple leaves and paper geese hung from irridescent streamers, setting off the food tables as very much separate from the raised dance floor in case the terrifying papier-mâché beaver didn't make it obvious that the timbits were for eating. Or for dunking in the maple syrup fountain. Beyond pure sugar, there were plenty of bite-size portioned food and nonalcoholic beverages to push the theme into the bellies of all, no matter how tight the dresses!

Beyond the dance floor, the shadowy corners glowed with the twinkle of glittery maple leaf garland and a Joni Mitchell inspired moose that had been strategically positioned to look rather tragic in its lyric-covered glory. Yes, glory. For the evening was to be glorious. Or at the very least entertaining.

Welcome to your 2011 Homecoming Dance!

Homecoming Carnival Post I [The Park, Friday, October 21, 2011]

Welcome, one and all, to the Fandom High Homecoming Carnival! Here you'd find red and white decorations abound, including just about everything maple-leaf emblazoned imaginable, an assortment of moose-related things (including a crossing sign), and an assortment of delicious foods.

Rides, games and activities were set up all over the park, and an enormous set of speakers was playing a Canadian Greatest Hits playlist that seemed to be disproportionately Bieber-centric.

All the joy of Canada was brought to you by your friendly neighborhood Student Council. Enjoy!
