The boardwalk, Friday evening

Blair didn't have ice to work with this time, but she tried to do what she could with the location she had. Luckily the beach was pretty. Besides, too much gold in the decorations tended to cross the line into tacky.

So she kept the decorations to twinkling gold lights and candles. Most of the linens were a crisp white, with golden napkins and table runners to provide pops of color.

The bulk of the gold went into the food. There were brandied apricots, lemon and chocolate cheesecakes, mango sorbets, small cups of saffron vanilla pudding, miniature stuffed yellow peppers, and any number of foods that followed the theme, along with the pies that Ned had made.

Drinks were mixed, but naturally included Goldschläger, as well as coffee and cocoa decorated with tiny gold letters which said things like "Fandom" or "Goodbye Summer."

Blair had staked out a prime table with a view of the water. She sipped at a passionfruit martini, listened to the music coming out of the various speakers she'd had set up, and looked forward to a night of judging watching the crowd.

She was also going to make sure nobody served those skunks. Clearly they didn't know how to hold their liquor.

Ned found a spot to lean against the railing and enjoyed the cooler weather and the smell of pies coming from the food table.

Chuck was there, looking awesome thanks to MP!, with a drink in his hand. He was trying to avoid making contact with the skunks. They were acting like Serena on a bender.

Still holding his drink, Sean meandered aimlessly, just sort of seeing who all was there. People-watching was fun, man.

Mac was there. Not mingling, per se, but she was around. She even put some effort into this, and looks quite nice. Just ignore the fact she's sitting on the edge of the boardwalk fiddling with her iPhone rather than actually talking to people.

There's a drink besider her, and any skunk that came near it was getting shoved off the boardwalk.

Lola was getting the hang of this whole meet and greet in English thing, but for the moment was staying off to the side and people-watching.

Tosh wasn't sure why she decided to go to this party. There was the whole lack of social skills thing she had going on. But she was there...standing off to the side.

Cimorene was mingling, a glass in her hand, and one of her golden dresses on. She'd rather be reading, but she figured a little mingling couldn't hurt.

Dor was never good at parties. Or mingling. Which is probably why he was talking to the railing on the boardwalk.

"So you haven't always been a part of Fandom?" Dor asked.

"Not until a couple of weeks ago," the railing replied. "Until then we just hung out and were bored most of the time."

"Aren't you a board already?" Dor asked looking confused.

"You're not funny."

"What?"

Brooke had to hand it to this Blair girl, she threw a good party. Nicely decked out in one of her own designs, Brooke grabbed a drink and decided to do a lap and see who all was here.

Sitting off a bit by herself, Penelope was more than happy with just watching everyone. She's never been to a party before and she was amazed at how many people showed up at one. Everyone seemed so happy.
