The boardwalk, Friday evening

Blair didn't have ice to work with this time, but she tried to do what she could with the location she had. Luckily the beach was pretty. Besides, too much gold in the decorations tended to cross the line into tacky.

So she kept the decorations to twinkling gold lights and candles. Most of the linens were a crisp white, with golden napkins and table runners to provide pops of color.

The bulk of the gold went into the food. There were brandied apricots, lemon and chocolate cheesecakes, mango sorbets, small cups of saffron vanilla pudding, miniature stuffed yellow peppers, and any number of foods that followed the theme, along with the pies that Ned had made.

Drinks were mixed, but naturally included Goldschläger, as well as coffee and cocoa decorated with tiny gold letters which said things like "Fandom" or "Goodbye Summer."

Blair had staked out a prime table with a view of the water. She sipped at a passionfruit martini, listened to the music coming out of the various speakers she'd had set up, and looked forward to a night of judging watching the crowd.

She was also going to make sure nobody served those skunks. Clearly they didn't know how to hold their liquor.

Ned spent the better part of two and a half days baking. Now, he'd wrangled some NPC help to carry them down to the boardwalk and was busily setting them out.

Sean was all for the booze. Because c'mon, after a day of chasing drunken skunks out of his office, he was in the mood for a drink or four himself.

Francine would be hanging out by the food, yes. But tonight it was more due to nervousness that the dress she'd bought was totally wrong... and totally too tight... and totally oh God what was she thinking showing up to a party thrown by popular people, and was there maybe a drunk skunk large enough to hide behind?

So actually, not so much with the eating anything she couldn't nibble without fear of spilling something all over herself. Which was sad because PIE.

Sam wasn't usually a huge party-goer, but he figured it wasn't too late to change that, especially if the party involved pie. He started with a drink though, and looked around for his date Peter, or any new people to talk to.

"Hi. Thanks for the party," Dor said with a dorky wave. "It's very nice."

As a note: My eyes are still wonky. If I'm slow with any replies it's due to any problems with that. Last night they pooped out on me around 9:30/10pm Eastern, so we'll see how it goes. Luckily Blair can always be counted on to be aloof ;)
