Duck Pond, mid-afternoon

Well, after the early-morning whatever she'd done with Rikku and an extremely wrinkly older woman and a couple of other people, Dawn had decided maybe going to a beach party wasn't the best idea, tempting as it might be.

So, instead, she was walking around the pond with a bunch of birdseed, placing clumps in a circle as she eyed the waterfowl, trying to figure out how much she'd need.

"Duck. Duck. Duck. Duck. Duck..."

Ow. She felt a nip at her leg.

"Ow, okay, Swan!"

Then she resumed her actions.

"Duck. Duck. Duck. Duck."

It wasn't long before Dawn was running on the grass, followed by many waterfowl in search of birdseed.

"Dammit, I said didn't say goose!"

Clearly, they didn't know the rules.

[OOC: Open to anyone who might want to play. No OCD!]

Outside the Arms Hotel, In the Wee Pre-Dawn Hours, Monday

"We mutiny!" Rikku announced, pumping her fist into the air. "Against ... um. Against anything we don't like! And for the things we do like!"

Okay, so Room 12 of the Arms Hotel -- Rikku, Gwen Cooper, Yzma, and one of the two Buffy Summerses -- had had rather a lot of liquor last night (not that it took much liquor to get Rikku tipsy, but that was hardly the point) and with all of those sane, rational people in one room, with the bonus of liquor spurring them along, the brilliant idea had been birthed: that they should absolutely have some kind of a Naked Mutiny. Against ... erm ... something. Maybe clothing?! The details had been fuzzy.

Not that everyone was naked! Rikku herself was rocking several beaded necklaces on top, and a tool belt on the bottom. But, you know, not everyone could be as brave as Yzma, who was truly a sight to behold. A lot.

This was going to end very poorly for all involved. That was sort of a given, right?

(Fellow roomies were modded with permission. Anyone is welcome to pop in and join the chaos, which is headed to ... maybe a warehouse, for graffiti-related purposes? They have not exactly thought this through, so who knows where they'll actually end up. Major SP in effect for time zone insanity! Please wait for minor OCD!)

Gremlin Party, Unexplored Wooded Area, Sunday Evening

The strange spell lifted as the sun came down, and left dozens of gremlins looking confused and bewildered all over the island. They skittered home quickly to tell tales of their terrible, no-good-day. Soon, a decision was made, and lo and behold, just an hour after sundown, signs started to appear everywhere reading SORY and WE MAKE IT UP TO U, pointing helpfully towards a clearing in the wooded area.

You wouldn't be able to miss it. For one, there was loud singing and drums that were audible from quite far away, and for two, there were very large torches sticking out everywhere, casting a glow across the woods.

There were many gremlins strewn across the clearing, and they all looked Very Apologetic. And if the gremlins themselves didn't look apologetic enough, well, there were also tables with enormous amounts of food. That was how Fandom worked, yes?

[[ wait for the ocd up! gremlins party hard! ]]

Luke's, Sunday

"THAT'S TOO MUCH ORANGE ZEST, ARE YOU BLIND?"

"GRAB THE BUTTER, YOU MORON!"

Vincent and the cook were watching the Food Network in the kitchen. Priestly sat on a counter behind them both, taking notes.

Eliot was avoiding the whole thing. And occasionally muttering about backseat chefs. And wondering when this weekend was going to end.

Today's specials
Spicy Orange Zest Beef
Oven roasted potatoes with orange zest
Orange cookies with sweet orange glaze

"The words 'orange zest' have lost all meaning," Priestly noted. Eliot sighed in agreement.

Luke's was open.

[and OCD free, and totally ripped off this, which was brought to my attention by the incomparable [livejournal.com profile] heromaniac.]

The Park over by the Belthazor Commemorative Ditch [Saturday, September 5, 2015, dawn]

Like so many weekends before it, the calm of a September Saturday morning was interrupted by the unscheduled opening of a portal in the park. This one sprang to life in a blaze of blue and gold and a burst of glitter before settling into something more stable.

The first to flood out were a score of squirrels, followed by some alots, a few teal deer, and some gremlins who had left Fandom to seek their fortune through biting. Then humans, humanoids, and those we never asked about too closely came through the portal.

Welcome back to Fandom, alums! Even if you hadn't planned on being here this weekend!

[OOC: Feel free to establish your folks coming through if they aren't taking alternative methods to arrive! HAPPY TENTH ANNIVERSARY, FANDOM! Come hang out in the IM chatroom gogremlins if you have time to kill and want to catch up/squee/find out what people have done IRL over ten years...]

Cemetery: Saturday Morning

She had been leaping across rooftops, as you do. She was chasing a particular nasty lurk who had been trying to assemble some artifact of Olos Nah and put it on the shrine of Accabwhec causing the demon of Aiel Reklawyks to rise and destroy Haddyn on even of the appearance of the comet of Ekul. Or at least he had until Mel had grabbed one of the artifact pieces and spent most of the week hunting him down. And he wasn’t going to get away this time.

Not until Mel was leaping across a rooftop and flew right into a portal that had opened up right in front of her. She flew through the portal and started cursing like a madwoman. And she kept cursing as she fell about two stories right into the island of fandom.

“Ruttin’ hell. What the rut did I do to-”

“Fandom?"

...

"Rocketship!"

She pulled out her twinkie-phone and started texting out. Maybe some old friends might be around.

The Park by the Pond [afternoon]

Luke woke up this morning kind of wanting to kill himself (he'd kissed Grace Winchester! Never having sex. Ever. Ever. Ever. Sorry, Ben.). After realizing he couldn't fit under the bed at the hotel to hide there for the rest of his life, he'd come up with another solution.

Which was why he was in the park on a bench holding up a sign that read: "GREMLINS: Look, a Skywalker! Please Bite Me!"

So far, no takers.

[OOC: Open like a park!]

Chilly Boulder, Saturday Afternoon

Rikku was waiting at Chilly Boulder. And pacing. And monologuing. That one was new.

"I hope Dawn gets here soon," Rikku said, to no one in particular. "We have so much to talk about, since she left at the end of the summer term. My trip to Gaia last weekend, and her breaking up with Sam, it's just been such a crazy time. I think maybe we both need some ice cream."

Rikku frowned, glancing at the counterperson. "Was I talking to you?"

The girl shook her head.

"Then why the heck did I just say all of that? Who am I talking to, myself?"

(OOC: For Dawn, and their thread is locked, please, but absolutely open! Rikku is normal, but she keeps falling into soap-style dialogue and has no idea why.)

Caritas, Wednesday Night

Check it out, Caritas. Felt good to be back. Flipping on the light switch kinda felt like home.

"Admit it, you missed me," she told Tino. Who, being Tino, gave her a look and didn't say anything.

Caritas was open, and all that jazz.

[Hit or miss, tonight. Mod Tino if you need speed.]

Chilly Boulder, Sunday Evening

Faith had found some loose change under her couch! Four whole dollars!

So she did the 'sponsible thing and went to the ice cream shop and got the biggest, gooey-est sundae she could for four dollars. It had whipped cream and nuts and sprinkles and everything.

(So, so open.)

Caritas - Monday evening [6/23]

Jolee was at the bar. Exciting stuff.

[OOC: Not feeling great tonight. I'm around for a while, but will probably be slow.]

From Town Hall to Tartarus, Sunday Evening

The people in charge now knew where the kidnapped people were being kept. A party had gathered and they were on their way to the depths of the Underworld to bring their people back, no matter what stood in their way.

[OOC: For the raiding/rescue party and later in the OCD for the victims too. Please only join in if you specifically signed up for the raiding party.]

Town Hall, All Day

Town Hall was still effectively the center of command as those in charge waited for the away teams to return, and continued to form contingency plans for dealing with Hades. As one of the few safe places in town, no one was being sent away if they wanted to stay, as long as they didn't get in the way.

[OCD is up! Raiding and finale teams, your volunteering spots are in here.]

Caritas, Wednesday Night

Last night's radio broadcast had given Faith an idea, and Faith and Ideas were dangerous things. So there was a huge jar on the bar countertop that said:

STRIPPER POLE FUND

with a little disclaimer at the bottom:

If Faith's boss don't go for the idea, Faith's keeping the money.

Caritas was open.

The Park [Monday afternoon]

So...bribing gremlins with shiny pennies hadn't worked.

At all.

And now Luke--who thought he was a singing nun named Fraulein Maria--was twirling around in the park, singing to mountains that clearly weren't there.

"The hills are alive...."

Artoo was hiding behind a tree and recording the entire thing. He was afraid who Luke might think he was if he rolled too close. He wasn't playing drums or being a tiger for anyone this time.

[OOC: Yes, I'm out of my mind.]

Graveyard: Early Monday Evening

It was her last patrol in Fandom. After that it was over the causeway and then... whatever came next. She'd sent out a *handwavey* e-mail and left notes for various people to let them know if they wanted to see her off, that this would be the place for it.

Sitting on a gravestone, Mel took one last look around. Could someone really feel sentimental about a graveyard?

[Goodbye post for Mel. If you think you got notification then you did. Will be subject to bouts of AFK-ness throughout the day.]

Caritas [Friday evening]

God help her, Robin had no idea how she'd gotten talked into opening the bar tonight, but here she was, opening the damn bar, and on the night when some kid was having a party there too. Though, if she'd heard right, it was that guy Sam, so she hoped maybe she'd get to see him and Lucas together to see if she and Barney were right. They totally were. They Knew These Things.

[another slow night from me! mod Tino for speedy service, but I'm aroundish.]

Prom! The Park, Friday Evening

Not far from where the Skeleton Tea had been held earlier in the day, there was a tent that had been erected, with thiny, gauzy material and bone-like poles. Not dirty. The lights were soft as the evening grew darker, casting a welcoming, yet vaguely spooky illumination on the proceedings.

The proceedings of PROM.

One side of the tent was open, backing against a grove of trees; there were a few lights among them, but for the most part they offered shadowy nooks for anyone who wished to be a bit apart from the main action. The rest of the tent was enclosed, save for the entrance, and the same skeletons who'd worked the Tea earlier were at the refreshments table, ready and willing to serve any students or chaperones who approached. At one end of the table was the ballot box for prom court voting.

The music was just getting started, and the dance floor was yet to fill up, but regardless, Fandom High Prom 2008 was underway!

[Wait for OCD is up! Have fun, everyone!]

Friday Night, The Graveyard - Mel's Birthday Party

Rikku had some cupcakes, and some balloons, and was currently hiding behind a tombstone.

Because it wasn't much of a surprise party if Mel could see them, now was it?

(OCD coming)

The Beach, Saturday Morning

It was really, really warm and sunny out, at least for the moment, so Dawn decided to take advantage of it--she gathered a bag of essentials (two books, sunscreen, a blanket, a frizbee and a large bottle of water), changed into shorts and a halter top, and remembered what it was like to be from California.

[ooc: Open to any and all!]
