In response to the complaints directed at the Mayor, the troopers had handwavily been sent. They discovered the post office was deserted, drifts of mail covering the floor in a strange, crackling snow.

They hadn't stayed long, wanting to get back and report what they'd found - or rather, hadn't found - and as they'd left, one had glanced over his shoulder, pointing out that someone was going to have to run the post office.

Had they remained, they would have seen the walls shine with reflected light, as the machine partially hidden in the back room began to glow. It was searching, flipping through dimensions where its duplicates resided, seeking what was mising.

Fandom had a way of finding what it needed, and what it needed - what the mail needed, the machine needed, even the building itself needed - was a Postmaster.

Another place and time…at least for awhile. )

[OOC1: Establishy only; no interaction possible. OOC2: As promised, info post on Moist is here, info on the Post Office is here OOC3: Troopers modded with permission. OOC4: THANK YOU to everyone who played with the 'no mail' thing, and especially to those who went and hassled the poor long-suffering Mayor.]

The kitchen staff was kind of afraid of Yitzhak today -- he'd come in to open the diner wearing a long, kind of wild blonde wig, a black velvet dress with a flowy skirt that looked really good when he twirled, and a tambourine.

So it wasn't really surprising that today's theme was Fleetwood Mac, was it?

Today's Specials
"Second Hand News" Hash Browns
"The Chain" . . . of Sausages
"Sisters of the Moo" Milkshakes
"Seven Wonders" Appetizer Platter
(Fries, Onion Rings, Mozzarella Sticks, Mini-Quiche, Chicken Strips, Cocktail Shrimp, and Potato Skins.
The real wonder is if you'll be able to eat anything else afterward.)

"I Don't Wanna Know" Mystery Meat

It was the last one that really got the kitchen staff's dander up . . . especially the morning cook, who took it upon himself to play Lindsey Buckingham to Yitzhak's Stevie Nicks. Which probably explained why, if you peeked behind the counter and into the kitchen, it bore a striking resemblance to the stage during the Rumours tour. And why frequent outbursts of "Chaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiins keep us together!" and "You can go your own waaaaaaaaaaaay!" could probably be heard out on the street.

Too bad Yitzhak couldn't fit a full marching band into the diner; he always did do a really good rendition of "Tusk."

Luke's is open, and full of replicated band drama.

[OOC: No OCD today -- my decision to go with the FM theme was enabled by [livejournal.com profile] blessed_twice. I claim full responsibility for the bad puns, though.]

Anakin wasn't really paying attention to the weather--which wasn't precisely beach-friendly--as he perched on a rock and watched the waves crash against the shore.

His mind was whirling a little too fast with memories of what he had done--and who he was about to admit it to.

[OOC: For [livejournal.com profile] whitedeathpod, then Faithful and Rory. As it is a public place, who was talking is fine, what they were discussing, NFB please.]

Parker was leaning against her Miata, waiting for the others to arrive for the drive to the airport. A one-hour flight to Bridgeport; a van waiting at the airport; and equipment to be picked up locally.

Then, all they'd have to do was wait.

The keys swung around her fingers in a dizzy arc, and her boots tapped on the pavement as she stared out at the waves.

GOB learned a lot during his time in prison.

Mostly he learned that it was a bad idea to wear a Mountie suit while surrounded by people who had been arrested by Mounties. He learned the lesson with his face.

But if anyone asked - or, in Tino's case, stood there and didn't even look at GOB - "You should see the other guys." Tino didn't care.

[OOC: I'm around! Whee! half-asleep and distracted. Woe.]

Dick held open the door for Annette when they reached Ching Tai (cause he's a gentlemen like that) and told the host to get them a table by the window. The date has been going on for about ten minutes now and Dick hadn't been slapped yet. That's usually a good sign.

((Sorry ladies, Dick's here with Annette. But Ching Tai is open for all your Chinese food eating needs))

It was latish for being in the office, but Xander was distracted by surfing Ye Olde Internets looking for words that begin with Y, French or otherwise. Ye would clearly only do as a placeholder, since who says Ye without saying Olde, and that would make it YOMCA.

__
[OOC: here for Ye (Olde) Postmaster, but open for others as well.]

It was Friday and it was half priced drink night for the teachers. The ones who were still in town that is.

Mazikeen was seriously debating whether or not to put bikinis on the trolls outside the club in honor of spring break. Needless to say, she had been watching too much television since arriving in Fandom.
