It was entirely possible that Ghanima looked smug as people arrived on Sunday evening, and it most likely was not helped by the woman beside her. "Good evening, everyone, and welcome back from the Bahamas," she started cheerfully. "Tyler's not well today, so instead Miss Alianne will be assisting me today, whom some of you may remember from her tenure as a teacher."

Aly raised an eyebrow at Ghanima then shook her head, clearly amused. "The rest of you can call me Aly," she said. "Only Lady Ghanima, the Princess Royal feels the need for such formality." She paused and looked back at Ghanima. "What is it you have me doing up here again? Shaking things up, I think was mentioned..."

"And here I thought I invited you for your charming personality," she replied dryly. "And if we're going to start with the titles, I do know a few more of yours..."

"Instead, however, we are going to shake it up a bit. No snowball fights this time, I promise. Aly, would you like to pick the first three sets?"

"It was my charming personality," Aly decided smugly as she looked over the fighters. Some she recognised, some she didn't, all piqued her overactive curiosity. "You two, let's try. You and you, annnnd -" she grinned at the tall guy with the ponytail. "You and that one other there."

Ghanima had given Aly a briefing on the club members before everyone had arrived, so that she'd know what sort of material they had to work with. "You, with her, and you and you," she said, naming off the last two pairs. "As you've probably noticed, you haven't been partnered with these people before; you're all working across the different ability levels."

"Which doesn't mean beatdown time," Aly said. "And I'm pretty damn sure I didn't have to say that but too bad. My old mother-" somewhere Alanna was having a heart attack at that description "-used to say that if you run into a fighter you can't learn something from, you probably should give up right then and go sit in the old folks' home because you've obviously become completely inflexible and stupid. So - go on, learn something and see what happens."

"Children, don't cheat and try to kneecap your opponent, it's rude. Advanced... try not to just box their ears. You aren't old enough yet for that to be funny," Ghanima continued, smiling. "For those of you picking your own fights, try going with someone from the other group, and see what you can learn."

Kyle put up a sign on the front door saying 'Gone Meditating: Need help? Call Sam & Max or the actual police.'

And then he wandered off to the woods to meditate. Could he have done this during the past week when nobody was around? No, he couldn't. And there were good reasons for it. Just no real reasons worth discussing.

[OOC: The actual reason is that I'll be at a sports bar for most of the day and just woke up when I have to meet people in like an hour. USA! USA! USA!]

Clark...had forgotten about work this week.

Tino didn't much care, he was watching the Closing Ceremonies and wiping a tear from his face at the lame-ass Tide commercials they kept showing.

Call mom, kids. Call her.

[I am lame, you will mod Tino]
