Kennedy had said not to worry. She was just heading off to a different world for a few days to fight bad things. Nothing big.

So this was Tara, not worrying.

Which, by amazing coincidence, looked a lot like Tara, worrying, and checking her phone every 30 seconds just in case a text from Kennedy had appeared. She tried to do her work - there was a new shipment of herbs to unpack -- but she kept losing her train of thought and having to restart the most routine tasks.

It was not her best day.

[OOC: Open shop is open; OCD got the day off.]

The mostly finished painting from yesterday, Katchoo's interpretation of herself from the other Fandom as gleaned from what she'd gotten out of the other Francine over the weekend, was still set up on the easel by the counter this morning but Katchoo wasn't working on it. The radio was tuned to some station that seemed set on playing the ultimate Lilith Fair lineup as Katchoo would define it: more Heart and Emmylou Harris than Jewel and Sarah McLachlan, so the balance worked out . . . though she was starting to decide she really liked Sara Bareilles.

The music wasn't her primary concern, anyway; mostly, she was sitting on the stool beside the easel, contemplating the portrait and wondering if, after all, it was best left unfinished. Some things didn't need to be fully realized.

Or maybe that was too pretentious?

Screw it -- she reached for her paints and got back to work.

[OOC: Wherever my ability to leave the house on time today went, there shall the OCD be found.]

Millie was happily organizing the new shipment of books, taking the time every now and then to sit right down on the floor and browse through the ones that looked particularly interesting.

She was completely interruptable, though you might have to call twice to get her attention!

Helen and Kianah were at The Gig today.

That meant Helen was in a remarkably good mood as usual.

The horses were pretty happy themselves as were the cows and llamas. The chickens still weren't convinced that Kianah was not a Dangerous Force despite her size (or lack thereof).

Jennifer was very quiet at work today. She was finally starting to deal with what happened, in her own special way. She was reading very specific case histories, ones she felt were... at least spiritually similar to some of her own circumstances.

It was helping. Little by little. She'd soon be able to actually confront Alice or Zack about it all. Soon, but not today.

In the meantime, she'd welcome anyone to stop in, and if they needed legal help, well that she'd love to help with.

[ooc: OCD free, open!]

Technically? It was part of her job to review security feeds from the office.

However the fact that she was watching last weekend's shenanigans with her boss and a baby on a loop might just be abusing her position.

Hoshi was a little surprised to find that Gunther was waiting for her, wanting to know if she'd finally opened the mail she got last week. "Uh, not exactly," said Hoshi, frowning. "I had a kind of crazy weekend."

Gunther was not happy to hear that. He even went as far as to ban Hoshi from his kitchen until finally she read the letter.

The kitchen staff was disappointed to see Priestly show up in something other than a kimono, today. Whatever, there was still plenty to tease him about in regards to waking up with the guy from the church.

Don't mind Priestly if he gets prickly, he's in hell.

"How do we define identity?" Castiel asked without preamble. "Are we merely the sum of our memories, or is our personality affected by our physical forms?"

One might guess how a guy who existed on the mortal plane by taking over someone else's body might fall on that scale.

"This weekend, many of us encountered something of a crisis in this area. We were changed fundamentally, both in memory and in physical presence. And yet we remember the events, making that alternate individual a part of who we are, today."

It was clear that Castiel didn't much like this thought. He continued on with the questions, mostly the basic "nature v. nurture" arguments that one might have heard many times before -- only from one who was truly only just figuring out that the question even existed. His irritation bounced between himself, the island, and even on occasion, his father, before concluding that the weekend was a test, that the events and the altering of personage must be used to reestablish one's own identity in the world.

He concluded with something of a light show, stretching and showing off his wings momentarily before relaxing.

It seemed to do him some small measure of good.

There'd been an extended discussion this morning regarding continual muffin supplies, the needs of actors, the needs of directors, and what constituted a responsible transfer of furry animals. When the young man had left, though, Geoffrey was pleased to say that he had a significant number of muffins to distribute and something of a standing verbal contract.

Angua might have been laying low lately, because of mun fail she didn't exactly want to inspire any undue wrath upon her shoulders for being able to slide through recent events unscathed. She knew when to watch herself so that she didn't wind up eating her words. Or her snark. Or her laughing and pointing and eventual plans to deposit very thematic gifts off at certain desks at the station.

Plus, the weather was getting nicer. Not perfect, by any means, but enough to make her want to go run around in some wilderness in a less than human form. Today, however, she was just simply herself as mostly everyone here knew her, on a stroll and breathing a sigh of relief that she didn't even feel too tempted to start chasing the ducks into flight or the squirrels up trees. It was a nice, rare feeling, meant to be savoured and enjoyed.

Atlas Gym | Thursday

This Thursday at the gym was very nearly the best day for working. The trickle-down effect of Brandi filling in for Jessi's Tae Bo class meant Dimitri wasn't hiding stuck in his cramped office and could actually accomplish things on the floor! Things like the all important testing of equipment.

Everyone should appreciate knowing the pull up bar was working juuuust fine.

In the middle of his test, the guardian's phone started buzzing in his pocket and he dropped down to answer, surprised to be receiving calls so late in the Moroi day. After a short conversation in Russian, Dimitri clicked the phone shut and resumed his equipment test, satisfied by what he considered good news.

When Kyle got to the bar, he found Tino sitting in an office chair, holding a cocktail shaker, and spinning around. "Are you serious?" Kyle asked him, reaching out with the Force to stop him. "You're doing that all wrong. Let me show you."

And that's how Kyle ended up spinning around in a chair.
