Hayley didn't even have the nerves to look the GCPD officers in the eye. The fact that a Gotham City police squad car was taking her off the island, it was just demoralizing. At least they let her put her suitcases in the trunk.

They gave her a nod of acknowledgment when she asked if she could wait a moment in case anyone wanted to say goodbye. While she thought that she might come back, she was completely worried that they'd lock her up forever.

So Hayley, she was treating this like it was the big goodbye.

[ooc: Hayley's last post before going alum (and the plot will be thickening. Muhuahaha). Handwavey voicemails will have gone out that morning telling her friends about leaving and where to say goodbye (but not explaining why), so feel free to mod receiving one. tl;dr, post is open!]

After plotting and planning, all their wicked ideas were about to come to fruition. A long stretch of beach had been roped off, and white party lights and tiki torches provided the illumination for Sookie's birthday party. Orchids and other exotic flowers covered the tables, and each girl was presented with a lei or flower crown upon arrival. A pair of very attractive NPC bartenders were staffing the two open bars, and at the birthday girl's private table, there was a cake.

This is what happened when people left planning up to Emma, Karla, and poor, wide-eyed Bobby.

At least Bobby hadn't been expected to handle things like flowers or decorations. He was thankful for that. Food, though. Food was easy. There was a wide selection of moddable dishes from just about every establishment on the island. Okay, so he'd gone a little overboard. And maybe off-theme since some of the dishes were decidedly non-Tiki-Party-ish, but his heart was in the right place.

The dress code that had been written on the invitations was being enforced; swimsuits, or dress-casual summer wear, and everyone had to take a turn acting as Cabana Boy (or Girl) to the Guest of Honor.

Of course, Bobby was on hand to make sure that nobody took too long of a turn, because, hey. Girlfriend. His prerogative. Something like that.

Though if people wanted to play Cabana Boy/Girl for other party goers, it's doubtful anyone would complain.

[OOC: OCD is up for great SP party justice!]

It was Jack's last day at Cabot & Associates, and he was working like a whirlwind. Perhaps it wasn't all the most important legal work imaginable, but he hated leaving the tasks Ms. Cabot had set for him undone, or done sloppily.

Staying busy also gave him less time to think about the goodbyes he'd have to say tomorrow. He was excited about the life he'd begin in London, but that didn't make him any happier to leave the island (and, more specifically, the people on the island) behind. At least he had Sookie's party tonight as a last hurrah.

Anyone visiting the law offices today would likely find him behind the desk, tapping away at some precedent research as if nothing at all could possibly be the matter.

[OOC: No OCD, open law office!]

Tara spent today messing with the shop's display of tarot cards. She wasn't sure she trusted them to tell the future -- they weren't part of her usual practices, and she wasn't clairvoyant anyhow -- but she loved looking at them just for the artwork.

Her favorite today was something called the Animals Divine Tarot. She loved the portrait of Hera with a cow that had been used for the Empress.

[OOC: Open shop, no OCD!]

Since there was a request for vuvuzelas last week, Lindsay ordered a shipment of them. Now that the shipment had arrived, she added a few of them to the soccer display she set up last week. She hoped that if any were sold, no one else on the island would blame her for their ears bleeding.

Hoshi arrived for work a little early and got a pleasant surprise when Gunther brought her a plate of his special waffles. It seemed like a really nice gesture, and Hoshi was in a good mood until she brought her empty plate to the kitchen. That's when she discovered that Gunther's special homemade waffles came out of a box from the freezer. Suddenly, Hoshi wasn't feeling so special anymore.

Chuck was almost relieved that he had to work at the bar tonight. These days this job was relaxing compared to his other one. And he could drink and not be judged! Unless Dan was around. Then he'd be judged. But nobody cared about what Dan thought.

Sophie's day had been... interesting. More news from Tara about the current sting set up by her friends had her seriously considering heading back to help with the latest heist.

Even if Nate hadn't contacted her yet.

In the meantime, there was coffee, and considering how best to insinuate herself back into the game, without setting off all of Nate's defensiveness.

It was raining in Stark's, had been for about ten minutes.

Not water, which, really, was just as well, given that water and electricity didn't mix all that well. (And it was probably best not to ask exactly how Hiccup had discovered that particular fact for himself.) It was raining candy. Little pastilles of multi-coloured sugary goodness.

Hiccup peered out from under the umbrella he'd hastily propped over himself and the counter. "This is definitely not normal." He reached out to catch one and then popped it in his mouth. "Tasty, but not normal."

After a minute of watching it he shrugged, shoved a bucket out to catch some for later, and went back to turning the parts he'd acquired yesterday at the junkyard into the beginnings of a contraption.

[Fruit...senses...tingling. I sense this post is open!]
