Loki still wasn't really feeling like doing fuck all. He'd thought Homecoming weekend might cure the apathy but it hadn't. If anything, it had increased it and Loki had never missed Bartleby more than he did right the fuck now. At least then, he had someone to kick his ass and make him focus on shit that wasn't his myriad of issues.

Sighing, Loki tried to ignore the continued funk by organizing his files. Yes, he was that desperate that he was actually doing stupid fucking busywork. His life was officially fucking over.

Hinata was well content when she came into the store today, despite her worry over Warren. (She liked her roommate to be happy, okay? And he wasn't. It was worrisome.)

And being content had the peculiar reaction of her feeling guilty for being so which made little sense but was, nonetheless, was true.

Yei purred against her ankles and Hinata scooped the kitten up to cuddle her for a bit before taking her usual spot behind the counter and attempting to tell herself that it was entirely okay to be a little bit content while other people weren’t.

... That wasn’t going so well, exactly.

The music was up today, though not nearly so loud as she had it some Tuesdays and Ino was singing along to it as she puttered around the store, sweeping, dusting, rearranging a few of the arrangements to suit her better.

Then the music got turned down just a bit lower as Ino settled herself behind the counter and devoted herself to studying one of the (many) books she’d borrowed from the library.

She was going to get this reading music thing down. Seriously.

Jono had a kitten.

Jono wasn't entirely certain what in the world to do with this kitten, but he hadn't managed to accidentally light her on fire or anything yet, and so, bolstered by this wave of good luck, he'd decided to bring her to work with him today.

It had been a bit of a challenge to get little Joni to work along with his guitar and his amp and the supplies that she'd need to last the day outside of his room, but he'd managed, and now Joni was curled up atop his amp, purring merrily while Jono played some Both Sides Now in her honour.

She was enjoying the warmth that the amp gave off, and Jono knew that full well. But that wasn't going to stop him from seranading the kitty.

Shut up.

[They paved the OCD and put up a parking lot! I'll be gone for a small chunk of the day, but I'll be back to grab pings when I get home from class!]

Since it had been mentioned at the carnival, Ariel wondered if her sign, long forgotten, was still at the store somewhere, so she went poking around and looking for it. It was somewhere in the back, most of the glitter having fallen off, but that was easily fixed, and fun to fix, too.

So, making it sparkle all over again, she put the sign up again for old time's sake, and then went to wonder if they'd be putting any of those homecoming dresses on sale now that the event was over. After all, if they were on sale, then there was no reason not to buy them. Who knew when she might need a cute dress? Was was the point of a closet if she wasn't going to fill it with clothes?

Mary was pleased to see that the lobby was nicely decorated for Halloween. There wasn't much left for her to do other than put out the tombstone candles that Delinda had sent her. She would be free to devote her time to looking at possibilities for re-decorating some of the guest rooms.

The front counter was covered with cups and mugs and glasses, and Apu had made the mistake of asking what Shunsui was doing.

"Product testing ♥!" Apu was informed with the usual sloppy, dreamy smile as Shunsui poured sake into a ceramic mug that read World's Third Greatest Dad. "I figured it would be important to know which vessels I can recommend to my customers for drinking ♥."

Apu could have explained that wine was not exactly the drink intended to drink with most of those cups, but he decided he'd rather go clean up after the panda.

Sookie was still somewhat worried about Karla, and with the weather turning cooler than she'd like, she was drawn to comfort food. Absorbing herself in cooking would distract her, and making the food rich and warm and fall-like would make her feel at least a little better.
