Kittens, Hinata was fairly sure, were not supposed to make friends with dust bunnies. Chase them, of course. Pounce, roll, and fling themselves were all par for the course. But, as she knelt down and peered under one of the shelves only to be confronted with her kitten, sleeping, curled up with several dust bunnies and all of them content...

What else was she to call it, but friendship?

Smiling slightly—better to think about her cat and Yei’s unlikely friendship, than about family... which was, due to the holiday, just a bit harder to not dwell on—Hinata got up and went about opening the shop.

Today, Ino was determined, she was not reading a single thing about music. No way, not happening. Her brain was going to melt if she tried going any further and so—so not happening.

She was kinda fond of her brain, truly.

Of course, a vow to not read music did utterly nothing to stop her from singing along to the radio as she amused herself with various arrangements. It was a good day.

Loki didn't really care about decorating this year. Maybe closer to Christmas, he'd get around to putting up some lights but he was just fucking over it for now. He was bored and restless with this fucking island and just wanted to go home.

Hell, he almost wanted to go back to fucking Wisconsin. At least the clergy there were fun to mess with. But no. He was here, stuck as a landlord and a teacher and wondering if maybe he could just cut his wings and make things interesting.

It made for some serious contemplation.

Raven had had another night of restless sleep, but dragged herself through class and to work as if everything was normal. She was determined to not dwell on the unsettling visions that filled her sleep, because ignoring them was totally the proper way to deal, right?

Distracting herself with a book seemed like a fine idea. Or maybe she'd take a break and visit Jono at work. Unless he came to visit her at DDD instead. Eeek.

There was music at the Groovy Tunes today.

This was, granted, something akin to saying that there were books at the library, and that there was snow at the North Pole, and that people, as a general rule, tended to do things like breathe air and eat food. But there was a marked difference in the music that was being played, if nothing else.

Jonothon wasn't playing anything on the stereo. He was playing songs that nobody had ever heard before, because he was in the middle of the writing process. He had, after all, promised Ino that he'd throw together a few songs for her. And writing was easy enough for him, really. The trouble was that she'd asked for happy songs, and he was having difficulty delivering.

//Needs more trite drivel about sunshine, don't you think, Joni?//

The kitten blinked up at him, and then got back to swatting one of his guitar picks across the floor. How was she supposed to know?

After being hijacked yesterday by RL doing some massive cleaning the last day, Jane felt like the store was good enough to receive customers again. The only thing she hadn't counted for was that now pretty much all the merchandise was somewhere different, which made finding what you wanted a challenge. And while Jane liked challenges, she was well aware that wasn't the point of a store. So there would be her, putting little notes on ever aisle so people would know just what was where without needing to walk half the store before. She would probably move everything to where it was before so people -and herself- would be able to walk more easily.

Mary had received a press release from some fancy big-city hotel about how they were building a large gingerbread house in their lobby for the holidays. "We can do better than that," Mary told Gunther. "I'm sure you can come up with a much better idea. Maybe you can build a whole gingerbread village while I'm gone for Thanksgiving?"

Gunther hadn't been too excited by the idea, but Gunther was always complaining about something, so Mary didn't notice anything out of the ordinary.

Welcome to the Arms Hotel!

While Sookie was feeling better, that didn't mean she was really up to cooking yet. So that was a task delegated to the guys in the back, while she leaned a little on the counter, drinking coffee.

Because, you know, that would help restore her blood, or something.

While Robin had, naturally, celebrated real Thanksgiving a month earlier, she still had to appreciate a holiday that was all about food. And drinking, which really, was more pertinent, given that she was at a bar.

Rather than be productive, though, she busied herself trying to recreate Barney's Thankstini -- though, hopefully, minus the bouillon cube. Ick.

William was kind of oblivious to any sort of impending holiday. Thanksgiving in his own time- and country- was not the organised affair it was now, after all.

At any rate, should one have need of repair services, William could be found either perusing a book on ballistics or tinkering with a circuit board at the front counter.

Lion-o had a question for one of the guys in the kitchen, so he headed there as soon as he arrived at the diner. However, he completely forgot his question when he found everyone but the busboy had frosting on their faces. So Lion-o turned around, headed out of the kitchen, and got to work filling the napkin dispensers.
