The moment the alien meteor was launched out into space, the island shuddered ever so slightly, a tiny tremor, easily overlooked in the confusion of the fight. If she could breathe, there would have been a sigh of relief.

The magic users had done their very best, but there was damage that went deep into the heart of the land, and it would take time for the island to heal herself. Now that the meteor was gone, she stood a fighting chance.

Hours passed; the sun set, and Fandom could feel new life beginning to swell forth, within and without, but the last vestiges of Other and Wrong stubbornly clung to her still. She fought back just as hard, another tremor shaking through the bedrock deep below the surface, and she came to a decision. If all of the evil wouldn’t fly back up to the stars, then she would push it down, into the darkness, where it could touch neither her nor the creatures who lived on her surface.

Toward dawn she made the final effort, shoving what felt Wrong as far from her as she could, and then she jumped away as fast as she was able, hoping to leave what was Other where they had found it as she aimed for something the opposite of where they’d been: somewhere safe, inoffensive, a little cliche...

With the island - and his own skin - seemingly back to normal, Zayne figured it was time to get on with actual business. The droids were all functioning, there was food to cook, they were in France, and it felt like a good day to actually open things up.

In addition to regular American food and food from space, Zayne made sure the cooking droids were also up on French specialties, just in case anyone wanted geographically accurate food.

Two days ago, grey spots had started crawling up Dolf's arms and, with memories of the scarlet death still burned into his brain, he'd fled. Not off the island, but to a corner of the beach: he hadn't wanted to infect Shira, too.

But this morning, the spread seemed to be gone, and the disease had retreated back into being what it had been that first day. Just grey spots, here and there, that were already starting to fade. He'd had to make a decision, then, whether to go open up the store or not.

In the end, he did, but he didn't touch any of the squishy machines, and he stayed behind the counter. If Dolf was still contagious, then he didn't want to be too close to any customers.

He bit his lip, pulled up his sleeve, and checked out the spot on his arm again.

To say Mitchell was worried about Bo was putting it mildly. He hadn't seen her in days, not after she woke up that morning - and she hadn't answered her phone, either.

But something had shifted that morning, and it wasn't just the Magic Kingdom out in the distance over there. There wasn't anything bad stalking the streets, and the place felt less wrong to his senses. So Mitchell decided to take a chance, and got up early to set up the theatre.

That might have been partly for his own benefit, but Mitchell wasn't about to start brooding about that.

After yesterday, Firekeeper had done something she didn't normally do: took a shower. Which was not to say she didn't bathe, just that she normally did so in the creek or at the beach. But somehow being covered in ichor had made her feel like perhaps, just this once, scalding water might make a difference.

Especially since today was her day with the horses, and while they were by no means overly skittish creatures, she knew the week had to have been hard on them. No need to make them smell the taint of whatever wicked sorcery had created the monsters that had ravaged the island still on her skin.

Still, much of the morning was spent working with Blind Seer to coax the horses out, let them see that it really was back to normal. Or on its way to normal, anyway.

It felt like a beautiful day in Fandom to Jack. The sun was shining, the monsters were gone, people were recovering, and the island had gone someplace that only mildly gave him the creeps. In short, it was a much better day to be a bartender.

Though he was giving Tino the side-eye.

"Really? Mouse ears?"

The hand signal Tino flashed in return was not precisely family friendly.

Okay, so whatever had been going on around the island had let up, and the island had moved, and all was well again. It was. It really was. Except for one thing.

There was something bright and colorful and exciting looking just on the other side of the causeway, and once again, Jim was stuck at work.

Not that he'd spend his entire shift sulking because he couldn't run off to Disneyland to explore, or anything.

Just most of his shift.

Fixer-Uppers is open. And sulking.
