No, Firekeeper had not been in to work last week. And no, no matter how much Bold pestered her or Blind Seer, she was not going to let the horses know the reason why.

It took bribes of an apple and several carrots (she'd come prepared, at least), before they'd let the subject alone and she and Blind Seer could get on with the usual chores of the day.

Dolf was finally getting over his massive embarrassment from last weekend. Strangely enough, Nana was helping: she had spent the past few days lying on his feet and rolling over to demand belly rubs, which was both physically destabilizing and really kind of cute.

In retrospect, that was disturbing, as Dolf had never met a dog he actually liked.

And so it was with a sigh and a mop that Dolf cleaned the store that day, a Saint Bernard trailing on his heels and fur flying around with every step. He'd apologise if your can of soup or your fly swatter wound up coated in thick white fur - Nana was unstoppable when she was shedding.

(Hence the lack of a vacuum cleaner.)

Unlike half the island, Mitchell had only spent a few passing thoughts on 'a hole in the wall? really?' and 'a fucking volcano' before he'd wisely decided to move on. He was coming up on a hundred and twenty in two years - he'd seen his fair share of insane shit.

Still, he thought it was probably a good thing to run a movie today that had as little to do with super-dramatic soap-operas as he could manage. It meant a bit of digging around the old box, but, still, he was happy with what he'd come up with. It was due for a rewatch, anyway.

NOW SHOWING:
Sam of the Recently Deceased

He? He was going to be in the theater with some popcorn.

Cable was starting to wonder about Wade's recruiting strategies for babysitters.

Mind, he did this every time Wade claimed to have gotten them a babysitter. Right now, he was going through his long archive of written-down radio broadcasts, looking for Seifer's name and making notes. Some would call that paranoid; he would call that looking out for his dau-- Janice.

He also had the HELP WANTED sign back in the window, though he wasn't really paying much attention to it. Jan was sitting next to his desk, poking at the dog and just generally tying things into poor Tether's tail, but she seemed quite content with that.

He was going to leave her to it.

Last night wasn't exactly a great night. On the plus side, over the past week he had started meeting his tenants at MCA, even if it was through them murdering him, dying on him, wearing wigs and doing terrible accents, or just being kind of cool if extremely callous about death (which at least made sense for a vampire).

Huh. Actually, those were uniformly TERRIBLE ways to meet your tenants, so that wasn't really much of a plus side in any way. At least he was able to get away from all of that by spending the day at Goodvalor's, where there was nothing weird going on. Nothing at all.

Today's Special:
Vercupti of Sgazza Boleruueé

And then Zayne found out what vercupti of sgazza boleruueé was. Okay, that was weird. He might try to keep people from ordering that. (There were, in fact, some times he was glad he wasn't trained at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.)

[OOC: No energy today for OCD. It's cold and drizzly and I have allergies.]
