Not being all that literate, Firekeeper hadn't read the email (or the printout supplied by Annie) regarding Portalocity's recent... issues. She had, however, listened to radio and had made note of it that way. Of course, given that travel between this world and her own was already highly stable and unreliable, she supposed it didn't actually affect her.

The reports of people disappearing, though? That had both her and Blind Seer rather worried, especially since contact with anyone in Hawk Haven or Liglim was already near impossible. If any of their friends disappeared... they'd have no way of knowing.

Perhaps, Firekeeper mused, she ought to try calling Tahiri or Francine or Dinah rather soon (the ability to add an identifying picture to a 'contact' was something that had pleased her greatly when it had been pointed out). Just to... what was the term? 'Check up' on them.

So it was a rather broody pair of wolves that were taking care of the horses today.

It was the last day of auditions for the Winter Showcase! Troy was hopeful that they'd get at least a few more people today, enough to fill out their cast list -- maybe with a little more variety? It seemed for the most part to be pretty heavily Christmas-themed, and he had been hoping for a few more people from other worlds, or at least cultures on Earth that didn't celebrate Christmas.

Because really, how often did one get to direct a show about winter celebrations from other worlds?

Still no pizza, but there was a table set with some sliced fruit, pitchers of water, and some tea, if anyone cared to partake.

[Aaaand this is it, folks! OCD on its way; come one, come all, any act you can imagine!]

Zayne had spent way too much time doing work in a basement yesterday, so he appreciated having sunlight coming in through the windows at the restaurant. It was a nice reminder that the sun actually existed.

The staff felt inspired by Zayne's enjoyment of daylight.

So.

Kitty had been here three days, apparently stumbled into town at a time when people were disappearing, or something, and had pretty much been outed as a mutant for the whole town to hear. By someone she kinda knew.

Three days.

Maybe she shouldn't worry. She didn't know what was going on with everyone right now, and had no idea how to find out since she'd met a whole one person so far. And maybe people wouldn't so much hear 'she's a mutant' and freak out as much as they would think 'she has something to do with mutants, vaguely.' And potentially freak out.

Not being one to hide at any rate, Kitty found the coffee place and plunked herself down in a seat with her laptop and a cup of coffee, and started off an email to Shan to see how things were going. Hopefully she'd hear that everything was good and everyone was still there.

[So very open!]

The woman who arrived at 4 Apocalypse Ave could only be considered that in the most general of terms. While all the traditional parts associated with femininity were there, there was something wrong.

As though it was just a poorly made mask over something that hadn't the faintest how to act human.

For now, the woman shaped thing stood outside the shop, dressed in something elegant and fashionable, but wrong for the weather. Not that it noticed just yet. There were only so many things the small, cramped little brain it had been forced into could process at once.

"We will need a reason," she said to herself. Or possibly to the grey, cloaked figures that flitted in and out of normal vision.

"Yes," one replied as they all turned to look at the building along with her. There was no twinkle or sparkle to signify a change. It was empty, but now it had a function. As simple as rearranging the little molecules to do as they needed.

Her mouth curled up in a smile unbidden, shortly followed by a frown. Bodies were tricky things, it would seem. "It will work."

If anything was going on in Dolf's home universe at all, he didn't know: he hadn't been able to reach any of them in over a year anyway. But he was listening to the radio broadcast with some trepidation, Nana making big eyes at him from the floor.

Unfortunately, his attempts to discuss strategies with Apu were... not going so well.

"Look," he said, after about twenty minutes, and feeling crushing despair sinking in on him, "I agree that the eurocrisis is bad, but I really wasn't talking about wiping out the euro and replacing it with the guilder again--"

It was going to be a long day.

Susan was possibly a bit distracted when she got into work today, not that anyone would be able to tell that. But between talking to Dany and seeing what was posted around the dorms and hearing radio, no one would be able to blame her for being distracted.

She knew what she had to do here, so she was possibly going over what she knew and what to say and what information she wanted. A plan of verbal... attack wasn't the right word, exactly. A plan of verbal questioning?

Either way, the Devil's Nest was open.
